i have had things like this, and the grain or what ever it is has like cobwebs in there. but the worms or grubs are a cream colour. it usually makes the grain stink too.
dont they call them weevils too or is that something else.
Those look like pantry moths, Nancy. I had to throw all my pancake, flour and cake mixes in my house. They can cause lots of damage to your dry goods. They cost me about 300.00 in groceries.
Oh I see others have commented on the freezing thing already! LOL. Quick story: My niece filled decorative apothecary jars with rice and put it on her mantle. Looked very pretty until her house had to be fumigated months later with a terrible moth problem...lol. Live and learn, right? :)
Someone told me years ago that the mealy bug eggs are already on the grains (rice, flour, wheat, oatmeal, etc). And she told me that if you freeze the grain (or rice, flour, etc) for 48 hours before storing it on your shelf, you won't have mealy worms. The freezing kills the eggs. I've done it for years & I have never had a mealy worm problem so it must work. :)
I like the way you take care not to hurt them. I am deeply angered when people hurt or even kill animals/plants because well what ever reason

We call them Meelee bugs. You need to get rid of the product that has them , because they will spread into all your dry goods if you're not careful.
