  • what if inside my vagina(the walls) hurt during intercourse, and after pain in my ovary,or burning sensation after sex..? =(

I was told i have endometriosis, but idk if its the reason for the pain in my vagina walls.

    PLs. help

  • To determine if you have endometriosis ask for an MRI of the pelvis. When you get a copy of the report call HERS Foundation to discuss the findings. The new book, THE H WORD, is a good resource to find out what diagnostic studies should be done to evaluate symptoms, the alternatives in treatment, and who the best doctors are for that particular condition. It also has a lot of information for women who have had the surgery, about coping with the aftereffects. More at at w w w . thehword . org.

  • watching this video, confirmed what I've ever thought about surgery... as well, it will make me careing a lot before doing that, and in fact leave it for exceptional and necessary cases! Thanks

  • Most often effects of a hysterectomy do not happen right away.I have known many women that have had hysterectomys that have had to have their organs re-sutured after the sutures came out later in life and their organs began to fall or sag through their vaginal openings. Doctors do not always know everything. They hold a lot of flat world beliefs. I was almost a D&C because of a supposed "life threatening" condition she had. Turns out she was just pregnant. That doctor almost killed me.

  • I had a partial hysterectomy in an emergency situation 14 years ago. I never signed any release papers. I have not had any problems like the ones mentioned in this video. I still have a wonderful sex life with multiple orgasms. If I hadn't of had the hysterectomy, I would have died during child birth.

  • (cont.) My mother for instance had servere bleeding with her period and many other problems. No other treatment worked as this had gotten to such a dire point. She wanted no more kids so she had a hysterectomy. She had no problems whatsoever and continues to have no ill effect.

  • I'm glad to hear that your mother has no obvious "ill effects" from her surgery. However, many of the problems women experience after hysterectomy are not visible and many women are uncomfortable discussing some of the effects of the surgery, particularly the loss of uterine orgasm, shortened vagina, and diminished or loss of maternal feeling. The three times greater risk of heart disease is an example of the unseen effects of hysterectomy.

  • This is horrible! My mother just recieved a historectomy for a fallen uterus!

If i had known this information I would have told her to look at all her options first!

  • mrutvani:

Following the advice of doctors who do not inform women of the functions of the female organs and the serious, permanent adverse effects of the surgery is advising women to suspend their intellect and be good little girls who should do whatever they're told.

    No information? No consent!

  • Any surgery can have complications. Many women have hysterectomy and the ones I know of have no problems of the sheer removal of the uterus. Many women also have their uteruses taken out around menopause - a time that can lead to decreased sexual feeling. Any pelvic surgery can lead to nerve damage. Any removal of organs can result in problems with other organs. It's not just the uterus. It all depends on the situation and a woman must way the pros and cons. (cont.)

  • The uterus is a hormone responsive reproductive sex organ that has life-long functions. The ovaries are the gonads. Removal of the ovaries is castration. You have no way of knowing that the women you know who have had their female organs removed "have no problems", you only know what you are told or what you think they are experiencing. 98% of hysterectomies are not life saving there are other treatment options. Hysterectomy is a damaging, destructive surgery.

  • According to the American College of Surgeons, the average age of hysterectomy is 42, well before menopause. Here's a quote from them:

"More than three-fourths of all women who have a hysterectomy are between 20 and 49 years of age."

You can find this information just about anywhere. I was only 33.

And believe me, decreased sexual feeling at natural menopause is way different than when having your sex organs removed. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

  • After hysterectomy/castration I only have feeling on one side of my clitoris and it's minimal at best. I very rarely can achieve an orgasm, and when I do, it only lasts about 3 seconds. Prior to the surgery, I was able to have multiple orgasms at almost any time and they were intense and pleasurable. I can't even get aroused now. If you are uneducated and believe the myth that this surgery is no big deal, you should watch a video of it being performed. It is very damaging and mutilating.

  • Esteemed Finding KC,I'm sorry about your experience, the only relief is that you're escaped from a worst disease.I suspect you suffered inadequate physical-psychologic "follow up". I know women hysterectomy-zed for fibroids, one suffered haemorragics, pain and other bad problems that prevent any sexual activity: now her life is surely improved, moreover I know some "undamaged" women suffering vaginismus and psychological problems that never reached orgasm nor "know how" get any orgasm.

  • do u have or know a website where medical students cld watch free medical and surgical demostrations ?

  • in other words, don't ever remove your uterus. it is a balance between bladder and rectum

  • females sexual organs seem to be more complex than I thought, anything goes wrong there - its trouble

  • How do you know when you need to do this procedure? My aunt had been scheduled for a hysterectomy procedure because her uterus had been found to have lots of polyps. Can anyone tell me if she needs to have her uterus removed?

    Thanks...

  • A hysterectomy is not needed for polyps. Your aunt can have a polypectomy, a procedure where only the polyps are removed. If she has too many polyps to remove that way, she can have a D&C, where the endometrium (the inside lining of the uterus is removed by scraping.

  • Follow doctors advise and not comments from some lay person

  • Yes the doctors that give you medications that make you die. Lets all follow them like uneducated morons.

  • Empower yourself with information about the alternatives to hysterectomy and coping with the adverse effects of the surgery at HERS Hysterectomy Conference November 2-3, 2007. View the conference agenda and register online at

    w w w . h e r s f o u n d a t i o n . o r g and click on 'Conference in the navigation bar at the top of the page. For more information: 610.667.7757 or 888.750.HERS

  • This is sick!!!! In WHAT country is this performed?!!

  • This may sound wrong, but I think I would rather die than have my equipment removed. But that's just me. It's castration, and I know that all the guys I know would rather die than have their penises removed.

  • OBGYN Doctors? can legally misinform the patient using cancer scare tactics, and incorrect information, for MONEY. Obgyn doctors can remove a woman's sex organs by telling them lies. Doctors who trick patients do not refer to a womens uterus as her sex organ. Legal Medical Malpractice, at the cost of a womens sexuality, and health for the rest of her life. Thanks for bringing the biggest best kept secret in the medical community to a crashing end.

  • I agree. My girlfriend was diagnosed with "fallen uterus". Age 23. Total bullshit. When you agree to surgery you sign papers. Fat chance winning a lawsuit. She didn't win.

  • damn right

  • I'd love to see docs try to recommend removing a mans' testes when he gets testicular cancer. I wonder how well that would go over.

  • That is the treatment often used. It is called am orchiectomy. Sometimes you lose a ball or two to save your life. Same goes for uterus and ovary removal. Though, I agree hysterectomy is is massively over used! I think in US they do it to save money. Take organs out and they won't get diseased later = save more money!

  • Except often you don't really save money because you end up with a lifetime of problems resulting from the hysterectomy. I have spent far more money on problems related to my hysterectomy and ovary removal than I ever did on treating my endometriosis. Hormone replacement, osteoporosis management, pelvic floor physical therapy, counseling, pain meds, more endometriosis treatment (oops, guess removing the uterus and ovaries doesnt take away the disease after all), missed work, the list goes on.

  • Where are the pictures ?????

  • To view the anatomy charts go to w w w . h e r s f o u n d a t i o n . o r g and click on the navigation button "Female Anatomy". Next to the video are images of the anatomy charts that you can enlarge by clicking on them.

  • i have just had a oophorectomy and i feel fine i think this should be shown to all women before signing any forms i wish i had seen it first

  • A woman always has the right to be fully informed about the consequences of removal of her female organs. Only when a woman is fully informed of the alternatives, the risks of the alternatives, and the adverse effects of hysterectomy and castration is she able to make a decision about what is best for her. That decision can only be made if all of the information is provided.

  • unless indicated.. like cancer

  • Go to w w w . h e r s f o u n d a t i o n . o r g and SIGN THE PETITION to make sure that every woman is provided with this video prior to signing a consent form for the removal of her female organs.

  • I had my hysterectomy three years ago and have lost my sexual desires. It

is hard for me since my sex life was so good before the surgery. I have no desire now. My husband and I are very sad and angry.

  • Yes, it terrible and traumatic to undergo a surgery without being informed of the consequences. This video should be given prior to being asked to sign a consent form to every woman who is told she needs a hysterectomy.

  • That is terrible, painful, and traumatic. I had no idea ... it has never been portrayed like that or conveyed like that to me, my heart goes out to all women that had to under go that procedure :-(
