  • I was there on that very day! Pretty scary how that BA was com in in

  • people take pilot's for granted but holy shit like some of them are just unreal at there job and this is a perfect example...

  • I am not satisifing with your filming! You paged and cutted right before they landed!!...nonsense!

  • British Airways came like a beast...AWSUMM!!!

  • what street and what part of lax u in

  • Ontario International, about a hour and half drive from LAX, is just as bad and some days worst. The pilot on mine got it on the first try in 20+ mph with 45+ gusts. Damn Santa Ana's.

  • Great video! Thank you!

  • that is a prety rare sight tp see a strong crosswind at lax

  • @0:37 That looked like a concorde for a QUICK second.

  • The passengers have a nice cockpit view! :)

  • I suddenly find myself craving an In and Out burger......

  • UNITED!!!!

  • I can do that landing in X- plane

  • @mathewjordan1993 X-Plane is a game! It is different when you have 100's of Passengers to care for!

  • Im suprised the Alaska mad dog (MD-83) didnt make it if the AA one did. The pilot was probably a pussy

  • Going around doesn't make the guy a "pussy". Wind conditions change for each landing aircraft, so he may have experienced something the AA guy didn't.

  • @mathewjordan1993 lol! I can garantee he is a better Pilot than you will ever be! I dont understand how you as a 17 year old can critisise a fully trained commercial Pilot!

  • Damn, that last 747 was a hard landing....

  • that 747 landing was way to hard

  • One of the best videos of landings I've seen in a long time. Most people don't know about this type of landing

  • Looking at this again, why in the wide world of sports is the approach to darn close to heavy car traffic?? What was there first, the airport or the road??

  • @NellsStuff The roads and the airport were right around the same time. Road traffic just became more heavy. LAX along with a couple other airports [which ones escape me at the moment] also have runways that actually go over roadways because when more plane traffic was added they had nowhere else to add a longer runway. The city where I live became part of the flight path in recent years when weather is bad at LAX. The joke at our house is "I hear a plane, must be foggy at the coast."

  • remind me not to buy a house near that place...

  • Before car drifting, there was crosswind landings

  • THE BEST LANDING was made by the BA 747 400... absolutely magnificent

  • you know its bad when the pax can see the runway....

  • WOW that DC-9 i think it was at 2:14 missed like 3 times, did it ever land? or did they ask in passengers if they had more experience lol

  • landing in crosswind? no thanks!

  • that 747 had a hard landing

  • Is this near the In-N-Out? If so, I suggest that you go on top of the parking garage, it is one of the best places to watch

  • Is that The B747-400 From London ? at 3:54

  • at 1:00 was that a 777?

  • yep that was a 777. I think thats even an Eva Airlines to be exact.

  • The nose to wind is a common practice during cross-wind landing, the airplane is back on course during flare or even touchdown.

  • woo billy boy -the 747-400. from london, man o man. what a landing. hey take new ones, please.

  • For a small plane that Southwest sure did handle the crosswind rather well. The Alaska airline pilots also did a great job showing how it's done. Of course the BA pilots didn't have a problem as they are some of the best in the world.

  • I thought the BA landing was very bumby, and Aer Lingus are the best pilots in the world.

  • Good ol Aer Lingus. I've never flown on them but I've heard nothing but good things about them. Not to mention its my favorite color scheme on an aircraft.

  • yes -lucky green.

  • That had to have been one HELL of a crosswind to shove a 747 around like that. Great shots.

  • awesome vid!!! Gotta love crosswind landings!

  • awsome vid, what speed were the winds if u know?

  • Great video thanks!

  • yaaaaaa southwest airlines kicks ass!

  • that southwest airlines 737 looked comfortable doing that crosswind

  • agreed.

  • Great video!

  • is this near the in 'n out burger , init?

    cheers

  • good burgers there

  • lol true...

  • jeez they were literally coming in sideways

  • We just hate those days!

  • goin to LA at christmas with either virgin or british airways, then flying on to mexico with american airlines.

  • hi this is a very nice video look I need help I have been looking for this place to watch planes land but I don't know how to get there can you please help me and give me some directions please I live in California Avenal California is up north I will appreciate your help if you see this message please write me back thank you

  • this is off linconln boulevard in los anageles !!!!!!!

  • Amazing!

  • Jeruna dobrze ,że edek mo reflexa

  • Man, I used to live in Marina Del Rey and I have NEVER seen the winds at LAX that bad. Those poor AA MD-80 pilots were having a tough time with it.

  • ummm....well........747 did a shitty landing......haha.......i think d united 1 at 3:11 did a gr8 landing

  • It did not, in fact the 747 was one of the better landings in that video.

  • That was amazing.

  • 2 thumbs up to the pilots!!!!

  • Nice vid

  • I agree too, and by the way, cool video you posted. Keep doing that kind of videos.

  • すごいねぇw

  • i agree

  • Pilots flying 747-400's are usually the best the airline company has, not surprising that landing was constructed so well.

  • The British Airways 747 is a magnificent aircraft.

  • that last british 747 was nuts. the landing was literaly perfect

  • That's what some of the best training in the world gets you! BA are FAB! I love those guys!

  • looks scary as hell att 3:10

  • dats when you pilots earn your pay.and not when your banging dat stewardes at the days inn

  • Landin at crosswinds is hard, dangerous but a hell of a lot of fun.

  • Geeeeeeeee I love this big bird at the end !!!!!!thanks for the time taping this nice video man !!

  • hi, how do you put all of these videos to make one short movie? and how do you make it so it can be on u tube?

  • i agree the pilots in the 747 are realy good at flying

  • dang, that's tough!

  • Woah, never seen such strong crosswinds at KLAX. Ausome Vid!

  • wow, i never knew we had such nasty crosswinds, gotta go to lax on a windy day

  • that BA 744 really smoked that landing ^_^

  • NO ILS!

    YES VISUAL!

    \o/

    lol

  • Good upload.....thanks

  • hey nicely done..those were some hard approaches..

  • they are a ILS lights ILS = glide slope and localizer and the are a glide slope light.

    great vedeo thanks!!!

  • nice video

  • Wow the last one was hard

  • subtitle: "Planes flying sideways!"

  • those are for the most part standard crosswind landings that you are taught in flight training with you cfi. not very dangerouse . and the lights on the pole are are part of precision landing lights for the runway

  • Nice work

  • what are those poles with the lights on them. i dont know what they are. can someone tell me?

  • they are are lights yes and they are part of the ils precisoin landing system . they mark the beging of the runway in sometimes on two or three straight lines leading to the runway.

  • i would love to just stand outside of LAX and just watch planes take-off and land all day. its just amazing to me!!!!

  • DAMN!!! Talk about some hard approaches at LAX. Some of those planes were so close to the freakin' Glide Slope that it looked like they were gonna a piece of one of the linings on the way down.

  • wooooowie!

  • nice!

  • Two AA MD-80 go arounds!........right place at the right time....nice! That BA? 47 landed nice and hard. Excellent video

  • awesome.. good one

  • cool video dude

  • awsome vid!

  • Crazy!

  • Tough Breeze.

  • that was cool!!! the BA 744 landed pretty hard!

  • Awesome video!

  • Wish to be there =), it is not that common isn't?

  • they're flying sideways

  • Nice Vid the Pilots/Copilots and ATC sure were earning theyre money that day. Whoohoo hang on.

  • i remember that day, it was my birthday!, it was sooooo windy. the wind in my area was about 30-40 mph. we saw some lady that got blown over in the street and they had to call an ambulance for her.

  • Any idea how strong the wind was that day?

  • awesome.!;)

  • I thought that was a one of the reasons they have multiple runways at the airport?

  • Look at the area LAX is in. There is no room for a runway to accommodate crosswinds, therefore, pilots need to come in at and angle and crab just before touchdown.

  • boaaaa

  • um dia eu vou saber filmar assim....

  • Thanks for this!

  • Awesome video bud!

  • cool video!!! Thanks for posting that pal! :))

  • Batuta o vídeo!
