...However, if you listen to Squire Parsons sing this song himself, he also sings it at about this pace. And I guess since he's the songwriter, that's how it was originally meant to be sung. :)
This video made my jaw drop and laugh when I watched it. Arthur sounds A LOT different (better) now, his voice has gotten deeper and practice has made his transitions much smoother. None the less good job to all the kingsmen on the video.
@WTRickman You said, "That note on the second verse is an F above high C. Simply amazing." Simply falsetto is what should be said. You can hear him flip into falsetto as he goes for it. I love Arthur's voice, but sometimes he does vocal things that he just shouldn't in my opinion. He tries to sing higher than he can comfortably and with good quality and his never ending notes have really bad tone quality also. I love it when he just stands there flat footed and blows your hair back.
@metanoeo1 Yeah, he kinda splattered it a bit there. I believe on the album he sings it in full voice. That's the advantage of being in a studio, and being able to do it until you do it right. :)
I know Squire Parsons wrote this, but Arthur sings it better, IMO. I appreciate Squire, too, but Arthur has something on this song. I love it.

As far as high lead singers goes.... before there was Guy Penrod, there was Arthur Rice, and he was good.
That note on the second verse is an F above high C. Simply amazing.
Thanks for posting!
