Glocks are awesome, but they were designed and are sustained primarily as service guns. There are various ways why they're not perfect for civilian use: they are not even supposed to feed properly with weak ammu, lightness is more important for a person with loads of tac gear and not so much for CC/negligible for range gun,they have a bigger kick due to beaing lightweight etc

@Cormalek I have an Xterra 4x4 that does 0-60 in 6 seconds :P A lot of the people who are antiGlock are old skool heads that don't care for polymer, a lot who grew up with 1911s and revolvers that were all American steel and carefully carved walnut grips. There is something to be admired about pistols like that, and there are plenty still made, but most people would rather spend $500 on a Glock than $900 on a Smith, $1100 on a Kimber, $1400 on a Colt, $2000 on a Wilson Combat, etc.

Glocks aren't the only makes rupturing cases into the magazine wells. Glocks "Short Recoil" is WAY too short, so they are failing first. The others will follow. Shortly.

But, I don't believe the cartridge is what caused that failure. A severe overcharge would take the top off the chamber. A ruptured case indicates that breeching occurred too early. Because the Length of Recoil in those guns, is too short.

u should of tap the mag and pull back the slide to get a new bullet in there and keep shooting!....sometimes the spring in the mag it gets a lil *ucked up if its not replaced at all!...so next time u actually load mags make sure u tap under them durring the relaod and after a lil b4 u slide the mag in! other than tha its a great gun!...its cheap and fun...u wil be surprises wha u can do with a glock...dont get me wrong they are allot more better guns, but i personally love glocks!

I had a case rupture on a .270 win one time. Only time i have ever had a case fail. Nothing really noticable untill I tried to open the bolt and it was really difficult. I think its was the 3rd maybe 4th time I had loaded that particular case, so I guess that one just wore quickly.

Glock in 17 mod has a 17 round magazine with availability of a 30 round magazine.. Aesthetics are a personal choice - so no rebuttal. Glock Trigger is a semi cocked position and has won many competitions. XDM is a good gun and has done well to follow the footsteps of Glock.

It may not be the most accurate pistol out there, and it might not have the smoothest trigger available, but it's extraordinarily comfortable and very ergonomic. I prefer metal weapons overall, because they give a better sense of quality. I suspect the extra heft also really helps cut down on recoil.

@lubaker Glock Kabooms are caused by case failures specific to the .40cal S&W because the case is not fully supported in the breech. To my knowledge, all other calibres, and especially the 9mm, is fully supported in the chamber... so if the case failed here, its because its junk brass - been resized too many times... or just used too many times and not checked thoroughly.

Hi Point is not shit. Try to find a bad review on one, you won't find it. My buddy has a 1000 rounds thru his 9mm, zero failures, only the first day (which had a few FTF). But this went away after he cleaned it. Anyone who says Hi Point is shit is a moron. They are ugly as hell, heavy, and hard to take apart, but they are reliable guns.

I had a case rupture on a .270 win one time. Only time i have ever had a case fail. Nothing really noticable untill I tried to open the bolt and it was really difficult. I think its was the 3rd maybe 4th time I had loaded that particular case, so I guess that one just wore quickly.

Glocks have terrible aesthetics, no personality, a poorly designed trigger, practically no magazine capacity and no options to modify them. I'd much rather buy a Springfield xDM than a junky Glock if I had to have a plastic pistol.

Glock in 17 mod has a 17 round magazine with availability of a 30 round magazine.. Aesthetics are a personal choice - so no rebuttal. Glock Trigger is a semi cocked position and has won many competitions. XDM is a good gun and has done well to follow the footsteps of Glock.

Don't know how it has won so many competitions. I had tried to pick up the XDM when they came out, but none on the shelf. Picked a Glock that now shoots 3 calibers (9mm, .40, and 357SIG)..

@frankgon4 I picked up a brand new CZ-85 Combat in 9mm. It may not be the most accurate pistol out there, and it might not have the smoothest trigger available, but it's extraordinarily comfortable and very ergonomic. I prefer metal weapons overall, because they give a better sense of quality. I suspect the extra heft also really helps cut down on recoil.

@lubaker Glock Kabooms are caused by case failures specific to the .40cal S&W because the case is not fully supported in the breech. To my knowledge, all other calibres, and especially the 9mm, is fully supported in the chamber... so if the case failed here, its because its junk brass - been resized too many times... or just used too many times and not checked thoroughly.

That's cool.

Hi Point is not shit. Try to find a bad review on one, you won't find it. My buddy has a 1000 rounds thru his 9mm, zero failures, only the first day (which had a few FTF). But this went away after he cleaned it. Anyone who says Hi Point is shit is a moron. They are ugly as hell, heavy, and hard to take apart, but they are reliable guns.
