You have some fabulous ideas there that I honestly had not considered, although a few I may have tinkered around in my head without any real idea of how to accomplish them. @Clemburke1111 You should see what happens when you go into an emergency room out here with inadequate insurance. I've been treated quite rudely and without much care. Our healthcare system is frustrating, to say the least.
I've heard about people paying between $200 and $2000 a month for coverage and still having to pay for their own medication and doctor visits. I don't understand a system where you can pay that much into a company and still get fucked over when you actually get sick. Right now I have a PCOS and I am worried about when I get older, I'm 20, and no longer have my mother's insurance.
@KaleidoscopeIdeas I used to think everyone was covered in some way. As you get older, you realize this is sadly not the case. You can be on your death bed, and with proper coverage, you are shuffled out and left to die as slowly and painfully as your body will allow. :(
Yea, I'm all for healthcare reform. I talked to a man in the UK who said that his father had a triple bypass operation on his heart & paid a whoppin' ZERO dollars for it. And in answer to your thanks about supporting you with our taxes, just let me say, "You're welcome." I had two out of our three children on medicaid & for brief periods of time we had to use food stamps. Fortunately though good jobs turned up & we were able to get back on our feet. But I can relate to the frustration of it all!
the number of similar stories i've heard from various people makes me realise how widespread this problem is. its financially crippling so many people, and its a drain on the economy. hang in, hope things improve for you and yours.
There are some work from home opportunities now-a-days that do not cost you anything. There is one site called o desk .com (remove spaces). I love it. I get a couple of hundred dollars off the work I do on there. It's all 1099 project work. I'm not saying that it will work for you, but it's worth checking out.
@amberview30 My only issue is that my seizures come somewhat on a schedule, but still at random. I've looked into online work, but most still expect a schedule of some type to be followed. Perhaps I need to get back in and look again, do thank you for the link. :)
@choirgrrl It depends on what skills you have (or can develop) but I sometimes get paid by the project rather than per hour. If you ever have any questions about it after checking it out, feel free to pm me. I create resumes for other people, so that's something that can be done on a project basis.

That's just wrong. It is one of the worst things about the U.S. It is so pathetic.
@Poseidon500 I mention socialized medicine to my mother-in-law, who responded it would be a bad idea here because our government would be in charge of health care. I had never thought of it that way, and with the obscene corruption in our government, I have to admit the thought scares me. It's bad enough now, I can only imagine if they had full control! As for moving here, do you know how many times the old man and I have discussed giving up citizenship and moving to Canada? :)
