That's a pretty good review, but I didn't mind the additional features added to the later NES Mega Man games. It's only natural for a game to evolve in gameplay, and I think sliding and charging made the formula even more fun and interesting.

Not many young gamers today play 8 or 16 bit games there more going for graphics than gameplay sadly. It's like take Fallout 3 but keep the graphics and take away all the weapons etc there you go no gameplay to it. I dont like Fallout 3 that much just an example I prefer 1 and 2 I loved those more.

Mega Man 9 is best played with Datel's Old Skool Retro Controller which is shaped like a Famicom controller and has the same color and two levels of turbo fire turning Mega Man plasma weapon a.k.a. the P-shooter into a rapid fire Machine Gun Great for blasting high score unlockables. Get it for your Wii its the best controller to buy for 19.99 US.

I purchased the DLC, and in my opinion, Endless mode is well worth the price, but Protoman mode is not.

Endless mode:

Pros: High replay value 64(56+8 bosses) stages chosen form at random.

Cons: None.

Protoman Mode:

Pros: Protoman can slide and charge his Proto-buster.

You have the rush items from the start (Protoman has his own versions, with the jet being a dead ringer for Item-2 from MM2.)

Cons: Protoman has no access to the shop, so you can only collect E-Tanks from Plug Man's stage.
