I was disappointed that they didn't show more with Augusten and Bookman. I mean, that was a MAJOR part of the book, and they just cut those parts out. I mean, they had a little bit of the first one, but the only part they showed of the second one was "get out". In the book he said "Go away, Dog." or something like that, but then Augusten gave in. Augusten and Neil had, more or less, a love/hate relationship, which the movie didn't really portray.

i agree with you. the movie just scratches the surface. i wish they'd show more of deidre and dr.finchs' relationship too. and more about hope. in the book augusten and hope were really close friends soemwhat but by the end it was mainly natalie and augusten. in themovie it shows his relationship with natalie.
