@TheEirikK It doesn't matter. This was online with VATSIM. I was stationary and being paused does nothing, only when you are moving. If you bothered to read previous comments you would find some that actually backup what I am saying.
Can anyone help me plz , i want to know what's the program that allows you to use Live ATC ( you can talk instead of the game and you recieve the answer , ans where can i find this program, thanks
My problem is the background sounds or the echo. I have a good microphone, it has clear voice w/o backgrounds, but if somebody speak to me with a lot of background I can't mean it...
@colossus3200 You should join a network like VATSIM, IVAO or Virtual Skies. Start as a pilot and get upto speed with the radio chatter then go onto ATC training. Join a Virtual Airline if you want. Depends how you want to go on the networks.
@pocomedy Thanks...it sounds like hes doing RADAR/TRACON/RAPCON, do they also have Tower? Right now im working on getting my Tower local rating(already got ground and flight data ratings) so that's what I would like to focus on...our sims in the tower are great but it couldn't hurt to practice on a smaller scale at home.
The problem is.....so many of the controllers on VATSIM are kids that haven't learned to speak clearly. It's almost like you can hear the words being filtered through braces. Most need to spend some time on Live ATC and hear how the pros do it. You can be fast, but you have to be clear. No trailing off as you give out info. TAKE YOUR TIME, SPEAK CLEARLY. Nobody's life is in danger here.
@teragreg They are online sim communities. Search for them and you will see. With these, you can and will have ATC control as well as other players online. These communites are huge and more organised than Gamespy. If you enjoy flying under ATC control, you will enjoy these.
@TheFsReview - This video sounds like british controlers, in the UK Flight levels start after transition altitude which is 6000 compared to the US where transition altitude is 18000. so FL100 does exist but not in america.
@johns0075 Besides.....FL100 doesn't exists. Below 18000', you are supposed to use "1-0 thousand", not Flight Level terminology...until at or above 18000'. That would so kill the experience for me if a "controller" would say that...
@sorted0blud It literaly exists. Its 10 000 feet. But in ATC parlance, they don't use it. Look at Far Part 121 and they explain that. One should use the 'one zero thousand' way to say it. Even FS doesn't use FL100....
@2OQP - Sorry for being dumb but i couldnt gather any of what you just said. What im trying to say is that in the UK above transition altitude of 6000 Flight Levels are used and the last time i checked 10000 was more than 6000 so hence making it FL100
@sorted0blud There you go, we have found the problem, you are talking about JAA rules and I am from North America with FAA rules. Tramsition Altitude is at 18 000 feet here.
@johns0075 JAA is the European equivalent of FAA. In Europe that have this 'High density airspace seperation rule' that we do not use 'yet' in North America. I take a wild guess that their transition altitude of 6000ft is part of that. So of course it doesn't make sense to ear that in North America because below 18 000ft we do not use the 'FL' phraseology. We say "One-Four thousand feet"
@gemimijets13 yes but you have to buy an adapter that is capable of it. i believe it uses the same wireless as a controller. so buy one of the controller connectors. (wireless) but check somewhere to be sure. look on ebay.
@gemimijets13 onnonono dont even try cause i tried doing that and it seems like if u use those kind that plug into a microphone jack it messes up like evrything
It doesn't matter in this case as I am parked. Not being paused only matters when are actually flying. The point of this video was to show somebody doing ATC in a 'do not care' attitude as to how he comes across. Pay a bit more attention.
This Controller just recieved his S1. His supervisor (instructor) was there so he can actually pass his exam. The S1 test qualifies you to control, but to get the rating, you must control first with supervisor (S) online at the time. After passing, you can control anywhere as long as it is in your area (like the ZNY=New York, or ZLA=Los Angeles), and you contact your ARTCC first.
This was on a live network. Pay a bit more attention. What you don't see is a program called FSInn which is running. Another thing, it's all male voices. you must have hearing problems sunshine!!
Make sure you are pressing the correct key for talking. I know it sounds stupid but trust me, many people overlook this. If you use the gamespy network it should be Caps lock, if Vatsim, Ivao or others, it usually ends up being right control.
press and hold caps lock. And when u hold caps lock the caps lock light comes on and when u let go of it the caps lock light would go off thats how u tell your mic is in and that u can talk.
you downloaded this! I got it by surprise, I shut down the engines after landing in faro in flight gsm505 and i got the fright of my life and trust me it wasn't fsx because it didn't come up on the board........???????
can someone help me when i log in on the multiplayer after 3 min or less t kicks me out an says you have been dissconnected from gamespy because you may have logged on another computer pls someone help me i created accounts and the same still happens
can u please tell me how to talk when i hold capslock when i let it go my fsx shut down can u help me please???

@TinoDun101 Check your key assignments in the settings. If that is ok, you may need to reinstall FSX.

Online ATC is nice when there is a controller available at your location.
The alternative is to use something called "Multi Crew Experience" (for which there is a free demo).
You can talk to native FSX or FS9 ATC controllers via the microphone.
You can do other things as well. Lots of fun in perspective.

@coolsuh search for the airport/s you want to use. Example, John f Kennedy airport charts. If you know the ICAO code, KJFK.

On the Vatsim ATC network with Squawkbox or FSInn. It's the most realistic you can get, with professionally trained ATC.
