You know, I do agree that it sounds stupid to say that one particular game breaks the PS3, but my PS3 YLODed on me recently, and guess which game is stuck inside: MW2. It's probably because most people play MW2 for a little too long, but I hope someone comes up with a better explanation.

Ey brah, I thought gamestop doesn't buy stuff without the warranty sticker? how did you go about doing that? My 60GB died on me last month and I payed some cat in San Jo 60 bucks to repair ma shit. 2 weeks ago it died on my again and he just repaired it again for free. I aint even touching that shit till I find out what to do with it. I don't want it anymore I want a slim. How much in trade in value do you get?

@2800boy here is an idea. get a short temporary fix for it and trade it in at gamestop you get 100$ store credit and well only 200$ for a slim now.

pull ou the plug and switch off the power button on the back then plug it back in and switch it on while you you are holding youre finger on the eject button the disc will come out

get a strong hairdryer & blowdry the back for 20 min than fan the back vent wit fan 4 40 min. thts how i did it then traded it in 4 slim tht cant get ylod. they took off 120dollars

yea but here is the thing. PS3 slim is not backwards compatible. I like my original 60GB which is upgraded to a 500GB for only 60$ and well i just payed 120$ and it got fixed by ps pros. Works well and its working fine. Now im smart and i back up my data every week to a 320GB external Harddrive. Now when i know it dies again depending if it last 2 or more years i will go ahead and fix it again. but if it last less than that. i will just go ahead and buy a new slim and back up my data

I payed 60 to get mine repaired. Shit repair job tho, it only lasted me a month. It's working again now but I'm gonna sell it while I got the chance. I'm gonna miss my 60GB :( I'm not taking any more chances with it tho.

well i sent mine to ps pros. they did an okay job. they got it working again and they upgraded the fan on it. its hardly ever blowing out hot air now its better cooled and it works again. got it done for 95$ and well 40$ for shipping both ways. it was worth it for me since i have a 500 GB limited edition GTAIV PS3. Original 60 GB model.

fanboy i hate to tell you but i thought the 60 gb is not the best, i thought it was cause of the backwards compatibility, but the truth is the 60gb only last a year if ur a heavy gamer. "6 to 7" hours or more a day equals a dead ps3 in a year . I've been through 2 ps3's in 3 years

ive been playing call of duty since the 1st modern warfare nonstop, all through world at war, playing modern warfare 2 nonstop since it came out & my second ps3 died on my gave me the ylod. just remember to keep 150 on the side for a new one, cause i thought it woud'nt happen a second time to me but it did, at the height of my excitement about mw2, i prestiged twice got up to level 17 the golden star. I haven't played in a month & it feels like a crackhead going without a fix for weeks lmao

well my brother has had his 60 gb for 5 years now and it still works and at weekends we play for around 12hrs strait ... me i have had 2 ps3 one had laser failure and the second i got today and it has ylod so im sick of sony

The best thing u can do is get an external sata hard drive enclosure. This means u can put the harddrive in and plug it into a usb if u manage to get another ps3 and back up from this one this will transfer all ur data over
