The lyrics are from the Life at Brian's version, I always wondered about the Down to Dalton line. I heard teh band spent w eekend on Piel Island, near Barrow, there is a connection there somewhere!

the john peel session which included the killing moon, silver, nocturnal me, yo yo man, my kingdom and ocean rain was pretty special. i remember john peel saying that mac had a cold. he still sang those songs beautifully.

Yes it was. You can tell the lyrics are still not fully finished and they had not yet realized the haunting quality it would have at a slower tempo.

It's still amazing though.

This version is pretty cool, I reckon it should be slower though. Makes it more eerie, which makes sense since the song is about death

I have never really considered this song to be about death.

I think of it as a love song of the greatest love available.

But I will acknowledge that that includes death sometimes.
