Well I think that is a great offering - they look like they are enjoying themselves as much as entertaining the audience. I have this from itunes but seeing them on here really adds to the fun of it all.
How do they get away with copying the great song "634-5789" by Wilson Picket? They did this with a song on their album "Walk the Dog" but i thought it was an accident. I don't think so now, and I'm kinda shocked at the Great Don Was's judgement.
Your'e right! I hope they had permission to do this. Wilson Pickett is gone now, but Atlantic Records I believe still holds the rights to his classic hits. This is how you get sued.
Man oh man...what a GREAT sound!!! So good to hear a real song and not that pop crap that tops the charts these days. Just great, guys. Thanks. I have been hearing this on XM for a while and this is my first, but not last listen here. This link is going in my outbox.
They still bottle Crazy Water here in Mineral Wells, Texas. The song is really great and a nice piece of true history. They all came to town for a sip of "Crazy Water."
I am from the town this song is about. I think it is awesome that our town is recognized...even though the only people who will probably know what this song is about live here...lol. Great song!
just imagine how it would sound in Was used a mouthpiece in his trumpet!
How does he do that?!?

just checked allmusic. they claim authorship of this. steve cropper and eddie floyd should sue.(6345789)

music is all about reinterpretation.
moonlitesymphony 2 years ago
@moonlitesymphony reinterpretation is not taking the exact arrangement and writing new words; esp. from such an iconic song.

@VirgilB01 the song is not credited to picket; cropper/floyd are the writers of record.
