  • @jeromejnr73 The Taupou and Dancers should be facing the altar as the gifts are to God. Not facing the people as if they were an audience. Just my opinion. Im a Samoan Catholic and when we have this traditional offetory procession it is not like this. For example I have a vid on my page showing the Taulaga offertory procession at Cardinal Pio's Funeral at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Mary in Apia, Samoa.

  • @jeromejnr73 its the way they biult ther church..n arent they suppose to stand up doing the kaulaga..yeah there church is kinda wierd bringing the kaulaga from the side...

  • @jeromejnr73: You're correct!! Just like how they're suppose to enter up/down the aisle walking up to the Tabernacle...

  • they'd be bowing to the Tabernacle which houses the bread which is the body of CHRIST. I this an actual church or a hall? Always love the massive samoan masses and love how our religion allows us to incorporate our culture into the Mass! :D

  • Since when do Samoans "bow" down during any ceremonies?

  • @vee1322

its a Catholic church, they all bow to the pakele ....

  • @FobDee ah ok, I've just never seen it before.

  • This part of a mass is called the Offertory. They are bowing to the cross behind the altar. The cross obviously represents Jesus Christ.

  • @FobDee: Corrections, Catholics Genuflect (bow) to the cross NOT the priest.

  • malo lava nzik, nice description of why the Samoan Catholic Church conducts service in this way.

  • lol kool
