Excellent, well-put. Exact same reasons for why I decided to get into anthropology & geology: palaeoanthropology. Both for the sake of science itself, and for the sake of the adventure :)
Hi all, just trying to spread the word about a new community site we're putting together based around our planet - earth-forums (dot) com. We'd love for you to take a look :)
hi i'm currently doing my foundation studies in engineering and i'm planning to study geology next year (2011) but i'm confused as to how demanded it is on the world market and is it very interesting, or boaring?? if any of you have any good aspects of geology please do let me know as soon as possible because it's mid year now and the application forms will soon be filled out..and sent to universities...email me on thomasamani65@yahoo.com.....any one's help will be much greatly appreciated.
@amanithomas If you have to ask if it's interesting or boring then you shouldn't even take Geology. Do some research first, find out what geology is all about and why we do what we do. A true scientist doesn't care about the salary or the job demand, unless you're planning on working for an oil company, in which case you'll hate Geology because you're just doing it for the money. A passion for the outdoors and Earth's history is needed or else you will be miserable.
@SanguineBullet667 I like your message. Im miserable because I dont do geology and work for money doing something else. Now Im 32 and thinking of going back to school to do what I want to do.
hi i'm from the asia pacific region. i'm currently applying to universities but i'm confused as to what i should look out for before applying to these courses.
@Timons76 THIS IS THE RECORD OF THE FIRST MAN-MADE EARTHQUAKE.
I am not wrong. I challenge you all. With this so many lies fall.
Man-Made earthquakes… The U.S. account of the damage caused by Nikola Tesla in the first major earthquake made by man is in this 1912 government paper, “The Earthquakes at Yakutat Bay, Alaska, in September, 1899.”

thanks for the great video i loved hearing u describe geography its a subject i really enjoy and hope to get a job after my studys as one any good tips on how to get there ? :P cause i can see the goal but cant find the path :P
Judging from your writing skills I'd say, before applying for a job in either geology or geography, work on your English! No one can understand what it is you're trying to say when you eschew the use of proper punctuation and capitalization in your writing. Furthermore, no on will hire someone with such a lazy attitude toward good writing.
Thank you for the spelling and grammatical corrections. You're a good editor. Good writing is a process, not a final and perfected end. And, here on YouTube, I see precious little good writing.
Now: Do you think that pipuk3 cares about writing well or does he not care about writing well? That is the important question. I know I care.
Furthermore, reading through your post, I hope that you use better writing skills for formal assignments.
It looks like bapyou's pride just took a major blow. Regardless, I think we've all learned a great hands-on lesson about proper grammar from bapyou. I especially like how he tested us to see if we would catch on to the little mistakes in his writing.
But on a serious note, I think we would all do a lot better to crucify our ego's before deciding to take on the heroic task of a YouTube Grammar Enforcement Officer.
I'm curious about Geologist. btw, I love science :)

well if your just curious about the earth and how it works than thats why you want to be a geologist.
you didn't have to have a momentous experience with the outside when you were 2 years old.
if you don't think it's for you then leave.

nice try though, you just need to put more effort in to it. ( don't have a lazy attitude : )

path: go to school, learn how to write, learn the difference between geology and geography. Simple.
