A few years ago( 80s) a Stuntman put a jet engine into a car. He tried to jump over a river. The "plan" was, he fly about 1 Mile open the paracute and land save. But, and that was very funny, after he passed the ramp, the car breaks into pieces. I think the jet engine was too strong for that car. Not so funny, the car crashed into the river. But the stuntman survived.

By the way, the car crashed about 200-250 m behind the ramp.

I saw longer car jumps in Dukes of Hazard or Knight Rider.
