Only people who are not from Louisiana would say that this dance is not a Cajun jitterbug. We do get tired of people who are not from here telling us what is and is not Cajun!
Ok, So im not Cajun and no dance expert, But look at the title, So why do a dance that (imo) most people would say is not Cajun Jitterbug, which by the vids ive seen is danced by a slight lift of one foot , If as in this case (and dont get me wrong, i like the dance they are doing) Why not title it "Dancing to Cajun music",
@KIlhamjim ... you can't say Cajun dancing as done only one way. We have a live culture here so people are always coming up with a different slant on the dances. I see quite a few of the younger people here (Lafayette, LA) doing this style of Cajun jitterbug. They've come up with a new variation, that's all. The style may have influences from Zydeco but more likely, one person danced this way and others imitated. That's the way we learn dance here ... on the dance floor, not in a class.
They seem to do a Cajun Jitterbug around 2.43, apart from that it aint like any of the Cajun Jitterbugs ive seen on YT, niether is it a Cajun 2-step. because a 2-step is a progressive dance , around the dance floor,. Looks more Zydeco to me. good all the same.

Except it is the Cajun two step not cajun jig. Although they do a little jig footwork once in awhile.
