  • The sad thing was there's not even an AMERICAN commercial for the remake.

  • Could anyone post the lyrics please?

  • yeah watch out for those jacks

  • This video gave me brain cancer.

    Stay classy America.

  • one of the best games in the series

  • Keep pressing 7!

  • This theme song randomly gets stuck in my had over the last 10 years.

  • Down with Zelda from the very start. I got the heart; it's mine to play the part. Z-Z-Zelda. Zelda. Peeping through with an overhead view. 'Cause a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. So I stay on track, collect the facts. Never cut slack and I always watch my back. But jack. Z-Z-Zelda. Zelda. Do not stand. I'm the man with the plan. 'Cause the powers in my hand and the powers in my hand. Z-Z-Zelda. Zelda. /End.
  • I totally remember this! saturday morning use to be awesome in the 80's and early 90's and there were tons of nintendo comercials

  • Does anyone know who this guy is?

  • LOl...wow. You know what? It would have been even more epic if the guy had been fighting a few monsters while rapping. Z-z-Zelda! ZELDA!

  • Let's green egg and ham it.

  • I have the oddest feeling... that ALL the dislikes are coming from "individuals" not of that era... Did you even know what a gameboy was yesterday ..... >.>

  • Green eggs and ham it!

  • I have it on DX and my bro plays it on his GBA. Does anyone know if the DX version works on the classic and pocket gameboys? I'm going to be buying some some

  • @Anthem1998 I think it doesn't since it has an exclusive level you need color for. I can't test it though.

  • @RetroShinigami I guess you dont like the crysis commercial. they should put raps in every game down with crysis 2 cause the powers in the box! :) DINGLE BUTT

  • @JDOGFTW crysis 2 used invaders must die that's not rap

  • nice rap yo

  • LET'S GREEN EGG AND HAM IT!

  • oh god why

  • Back in the day :)

  • The japanese commercial is better

  • WOW, just WOW, I think he stole that outfit from an extra on NY Undercover

  • ?...

  • Wow, what's with NOA's obsession with rap commercials for 8bit Zelda games?

  • fucking awesome rap

  • i saw video for links awakening and said "i dont remember this game"...then i saw this commercial and said "i do remember this shitty rap"

  • what is it with old video game commercials and corny rap songs?

  • Creeping through, with an over-head view! Cause a man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do. ugh ugh ugh.

  • I suppose showing footage of the pixelated black and white game would've turned people off...

  • that was dope,i want that as a ringtone

  • I still sing this song now!

  • I wish they had commercials like this today.

  • "I'm the man with the plan" - What a timeless lyric...

  • Don't copy that floppy!

  • Did this guy's rap career ever take off?

  • lol nintendo and their zelda raps to promote the game... classic, but not as epic the first zelda game commercial :O

  • back when commercials were good...

  • Fresh Prince of Bel Air meets Zelda.

  • @feckadoodlethe2nd Hey, I just saw this about the "coon" business, and I don't like that. Before you go judging anyone, I'M WHITE so you have nothing on me on the color deal.....nonetheless, I grew up NOT a race man, so take your KKK butt and jump in a lake. You call yourself acting all racist, but yet you have the name of one of the original anti-racial people of their own time: Malcolm X. HAHAH you white power, skinhead, kkk trash make me want to puke.

  • wtf what u talking about

  • what the fuck

  • @feckadoodlethe2ndTHE FUCK....WHY YOU GOTSTA BE RACIST BITCH!!!! IT AINT 1800'S NO MO...

  • @feckadoodlethe2nd

    That was quite rude.

  • Comment removed

  • Lame

  • rap that doesn't rape my ears that's a first

  • best commercial

  • Holy crap every comment is a bloody essay

  • OMG, the comercial of one of my favorite games ever (though it really seems not to fit the game ).

    Nice to see ;)

This game will be in my heart forever !!!

  • Excellent commercial. Very memorable.

  • I'm 12 years old and what is this?

  • @feckadoodlethe2nd

Something from before your time, don't worry. The 90's were a vastly different time.

  • There's another version of this commercial where an announcer says "Game Boy sold seperately" at the end.

  • @paulsbuck5 VERY astute! I feel that's the inferior verison. Why? Because it obscures the final "OW!" at the end!

  • I love black people, white people, only difference in people is melanin. Redneck ideologies should be left in the swamps of mississippi or other boonies like that. Just like I hate black, white or Mexican drug dealers. It's 2010 get over your grandparents stupidity. If you cannot create a person you have no reason to judge one once of soul you cannot even understand in mechanics.

  • @Wilzehagawa but...aren't you judging those rednecks in the missisippi swamps? Am I to assume that you can create a person then?

  • Ianuus if you read my comments you will clear see that I hate racism, and no I cannot create a person. Prejudices we all have and that can be easily understood and worked upon, but being blatantly racist is just pure ignorance. How do you even begin to explain hating a person for the amount of melanin the hold. If someone does you wrong dislike them for the moment and seek justice don't throw out intelligence and hate for fear of some one else achieving. Though non perfect I too learn.

  • Do you know how much better this nation would be if the silent majority spoke up against the ills of the ignorant and tyrannical politicans. Let me state this, I am Christian, but in no way shape or form do I support the republican party nor the democrats. What I seek is for them to speak the truth on issues like the propagated Iraqi war, or the over socializing of issues by democrats. Do you know how much easier things would be if parents and young adults would think independently.

  • I apologize dearly for judging and using the term redneck I was trully out of line. But the pursuit of justice for all is what America should strive for. Let's not pretend like red states and blue states do not exist. My direction left Zelda but let me say this does link not fight for justice for his people and is loyal to the crown. Even when they task is great he humbles himself and befriends varying people groups like we all should in reality.

  • To all the so called white people here trying to be racist and saying there were no Negroes back then or this and that. I love the Japanese people for being bold enough to speak up and support different groups. By the way even your beloved rock n' roll is black music. So on behalf of an intelligent person that knows history fuck you too. Pardon my being upset. What the fuck makes some white people racist anyway?

  • @Wilzehagawa tl;dr

  • I remember this commercail. I had friends who actually rap this song at their shows.

  • Better than the rap for the first game!

  • @doanjoey Damn right.

  • .. Will Smith?... :O

  • wow um...right

  • hahahahaha

  • Why did the commercials for early Zelda games involve raps?

  • Rap was cutting edge back then, so it was seen as trendy and cool.

  • Yeah, rap was much better back then as opposed to today, when all it's about is being popular, what kind of rims you have, how many bitches you've fucked, etc.

  • Pretty much.

  • He rocked that!!

  • Japan gets awkward yet cute commercials and we get rap..

    Nice.

    :) Good rap though.

  • Really Zelda rap

  • sick beat!

  • lmao i remember thinking zelda was stupid when i was a kid cuz i hated rap but now links my homeboy, peace

  • @madmike42345 lol im one of those teens that dont like zelda i dont know why but i like phantom hourglass thats the only one i played but when i look at it in the game it looks boring but when i polay it its diffrent maybe ill get it for 3ds

  • Sadly he squandered all his earnings from this breakout hit on parachute pants.

  • wtf

  • Tu Pac ain't got nothing on him! Woot Link got street cred!!

  • Man I love this game but the commerical is dump

  • ROLF. Zelda Rules.

  • LoL, I so remember this!!!

  • D-D-Down with Zelda!!!

  • I miss old commercials like this.

  • OMFG - How fucked up is this commercial!? What does Zelda have to do with stereotypical, superficial fucking rap artists???

I love you Nintendo but FUCK YOU FOR THIS!!!!

  • an elf got to do what an elf got to do ! So.....Ganon im coming 4 yo !

  • yo forget to state how u cap his Pig Ass

  • ♥♪♬ Knock him out the box, Link. Knock him out. ♩▼♪

  • sounds like a ice cube

  • Is this 2pac?!

  • how did nintendo convince kool moe dee to do a video game commercial? º,º

  • "Creepin thru with an overhead view, cause a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"

My new life philosophy right there.

  • i hav the game n luv playin it so no offense but...

WTH WAS THAT?! Honestly if i had seen that before getting the game i probably wouldn't have gotten it. the game itself is awesome in an old school way but seriously WTH was that? not Nintendo's best work...:( lols but im still gonna fave it...

  • this is pretty freakin scary

  • Yo, wazzup man!

  • And I thought the japanese commercial for this was embarrasing....

  • Apparently Link is a gangsta, cuz this is the second Zelda commercial I have seen with "rap" in it. hahaha! Hey, whatever sells.

  • CRAP!!!

  • dont remember this but the game kicked ass

  • ugh........what were they thinking when they made this????

  • The power must be crack

  • I'm so proud to be a child of the ninties.

  • true dat!

  • hell yeah!

  • kick ass commercial. this rap is better than any of the shit you see on bet or mtv anyways

  • @mbenzsl2000 you've actually seen music on mtv??

  • wtf was that

  • W.T.F.

  • FAIL haha

  • Hey if anyone knows how they hooked up the game boy color to a projector please someone message me.

  • Uhhh... Game Boy Player for gamecube

  • Didn't exist back then.

  • hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • whats up with all of the old zelda ads they rap

  • they just dont make commercials like they used to...

  • This ad doesn't have a whole lot to do with the game does it? They could at least have an ad taking place on an island or something.

  • i'm the man with the plan cuz the power's in my head n the powers in my hand!! Classic old skewl!!

  • I actually remember this commercial. Also, this is a great gameboy game, though I think they remade it on game boy color, but I can't remember. I think it was Zelda DX or something.

  • Yeah it was my first Gameboy game and it was amazing. Really all of the birds eye view ones were amazing even the later ones. Dan have you played minish cap?

  • Yes, i have played it. I like this style zelda instead of the N64 style. I think those games are too different. I hate games with pointless walking around.

  • Yeah they lost me in 3d.

  • I like to keep it cool, wit an overhead view

  • I was on the set when this commercial was being filmed. I know that sounds weird and probably like a lie, but it's true. My dad was a producer for Leo Burnett. I was 14. Everyone was thrilled when he said "I always watch my back for jacks" and there just happened to be a character behind him that he ducked under. And the rapper, he was talkin bout about the Bulls defeating the Suns in the finals. John Paxsons 3 pointer in the final seconds.

  • Nice ad.

"Game Boy No Color?" Lolz! XD

Yeah, it stinks without color. I think Nintendo was trying to keep the production costs low, which served good in competing against the Game Gear and the Lynx.

  • OMG!, what was that??

  • XD I have never seen this b4

  • ...and that's how rap died.

  • Woah.

They should do a power metal version.

  • <3333333333

  • ROFL.

  • this is the worst most stereotype way to sell a product to a target market ever

  • Haha, maybe so, but funny enough back then it worked! If you look about almost all of Nintendo's commercials from the 80s-90s, if they tried any of that now, not only would it not work, they would get laughed at to death for even trying it.

  • Zelda no Densetsu

    Yume o Miru Shima

  • i love this commerical...the rap is awesome.

    ZELDA ROCKS!!!

  • The 90s were the Bomb !!!

  • and the power's on my pants

  • LOLG

  • hahahaha

  • as annoying as that was, it was memorable which is what you want in an ad.

Nintendo needs to remember how to advertise.

  • what the fuck is going here

    kind of overwhelming

    and partly RAAAAGEEE

  • That was...I can't describe it....

  • ...and the power's on my hand, and the power's on my hand!!!

  • WORD.

  • lol

  • zelda+rap

Win I dont care what the others say

  • if link were black i think he would be him

  • la sik c du rap c un choi ki zon fé déja dan le jeu ya une grenouille rapeuse ki tappren une chanson pour l ocarina

  • I used to rap this at school and I remember scolding my friends for getting the lyrics wrong.

I cant believe there are haters for this commercial...its a subtle homage to the classic original NES Zelda...

And keep in mind that this commercial aired during afternoon cartoons, where kids were the intended audience. There was no reason to film anything "epic" and such. CLASSIC AD

  • Comment removed

  • why!? why a rap song!!!!!!!!

  • Sounds like hes saying down with Zelda! That isn't good advertising.

  • why the zelda rap?

  • *barfs*

  • OH MY GOD!!!! *Neuter's self, Gouge's eyeballs out, Takes egg beeter to inner ears, and shoots self in head with bazooka* FREEDOM!

  • good game, dope commerical

  • YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

  • what he said yo

  • Lmao! I had to crack up, but it was a funny way of advertising!

  • they've had some pretty lame commercials for Zelda games...

  • The trailer for Ocarina of Time was cool, especially with that epic sounding music. That one is by far, the best one (as of now)

  • Whoa there, the dancing Zelda commercial was the funniest.

  • Which commercial was that?

  • Jap. lttp

  • +o(

  • ahahahhaaa!

  • it reminded me of the old school electro and hip hop , it was a great time

  • You know, for some reason...seeing a shitty rap video screams "play zelda" to me. Mission accomplished, 1993 Nintendo of America. Mission accomplished.
