  • Brilliant game, Roger was a beautiful thing to watch his game is just so elegant. Well 13th Grand Slam under your belt, US Open Champion again 5 times what a record No one has done 5 Wimbledons and 5 US Opens. Roll on 2009, now your health is back I cant wait.

  • I cant believe ferrer did that bad in this game

  • ferrer what happened!?

  • Nothing 'happened' Federer is simply a better player. Ferrer has never beaten him once in his career.

  • wow really? buy he got owned so something must hav happened

  • Yeah, Federer is simply in a different class. He's won 4 Masters Cups in 5 years.

  • I think being No. 1 for 237 straight weeks (4 1/2 years) is plenty. He has nothing to prove to anyone.

  • Agree, but he did say he will try to grap the no 1 spot again, so hopefully he can

  • an alien!!

  • 6:02... Trying to avoid my forehand? then take this!!

  • agreed

  • what do u mean yours

  • Well, I was pretendig to be Federer's voice... of course it wasn't my forehand, actually was Federer's... not so hard to understand

  • whatever

  • 4:42 is a : Ok, shut up now ferrer :-)

  • illneses at tha begining of the year and maybe because og being to much time at number 1( thatwas just a stupid teory i read

  • yeah the pressure of being no. 1 got to him, nadal was winning more, his illness didnt help, and the media was just all over him

  • saluden al maestro Roger

  • the guys a freak

  • Love that scream. Scream of a champion.

  • at 4:03 ferrer is like, "ok lets go home now" haha

  • slice passing shot..only roger can do..short angled backhand..only roger can do..ferrer had no answers to federer´s genius..

  • what racket does ferrer use now?

  • Wilson

  • prince

  • prince

  • Federer will be back to this form just you wait.

  • Dude, I seriously hope you're right.

I'd love to see Fed kicking arse again!

  • some pretty amazing athleticism here, as well as some magnificent points..just a joy to watch..

  • Superb quality both tennis and video

  • pfffownage

  • i think i love him. and i'm a guy. a straight guy. take me roger!

  • your comments its so gay, but its funny lol

  • That's not the Federer we see this year!!

He obviously lost his form. If he played like this even today, he would send Djokovic cry to his mom, and even Nadal would have to be at the peak of his game to stand a chance.

  • nice quality. wish i could find more of this on youtube.

  • j'espere qu'il va pas s'arreter a douze grand chlems!!

  • look 6:10 minutes... incredible...

  • thats too bad...honestly I wish Ferrer won this one...he worked so hard to dispatch the other top players on his way here...not losing a match...Fed too much

  • d umpire said in d 1st set: game fidirer lol

  • omg..

so big gap btw NO.1 and NO.5

  • What's most amazing is that Ferrer was on fire in this tournament. Nobodu can beat Federer when he plays at his best.

    Watch and learn Djokovic!

  • wow this is amazing

  • how come this has three sets and the others have two

  • its the final! in the final they play best of five sets! in the earlier rounds they play best of three sets!

  • This is a final. They play best out of 5 becuase it's more importent. The rest are just best out of 3.

  • too easy

  • *beautiful*

  • its gotta be the forehand

so little visible effort and its the quickest one in the game, absolute power and accuracy

  • It would be so good if this vid can go to high quality. Like those vids that say " Watch in high quality".

  • if this had the high quality feature it would be hd.

i don't know what i like better federer's forehand or volleys

  • love watching federer.. such a natural style n hes great at anticpitaing

  • The video quality is excellent. I can actually see the tennis ball!

  • pros dont play with prince haha

  • Sharapova and Davydenko are definately pros and they play with Prince.

  • lol i no jk jk if u ever seend those comercials on tennis channel then u will get this

  • WTA is beyond boring and can barely be classified as tennis. About the

same level as doubles. IE *crap*

  • WTA's problem is that it's dominated by man-like ball bashers with no finesse who can't hit as hard as (or play like) men. The only good player was Justine Henin (but now she's gone)

And doubles really is good. No one watches it though, because it's boring. And the points don't last long at all. And it's dominated by net play (which is refreshing, imo because no one plays well at the net anymore).

Doubles is not crap, but WTA is.

  • That, i think is Ferrer's weakness, Volleying, and the fact he's only 5 foot 9

  • I really Love this match and how Roger finished the season ...nice achievement

  • Federer played very well in this match, he is just starting to lose it now, has not won a tournament yet. I reckon that he will lose he spot and go down to no. 2 or even no.3 if djokovic keeps up his form.

  • Superb match, Federer's ground strokes and volly's are exceptional. Go Federer!

  • Do you think Federer is using a slice backhand more than he used to in 2005/2006? If so, is it because his opponents are attacking his left side more often, or is he becoming less aggressive on that side (a la Steffi Graf) because after his BH travails with Nadal he has become a bit gun-shy?

  • Well, I think he is using the slice backhand about the same. He uses it quite a lot with people who like to hit inside-out forehands though like Ferrer. The slice is bait for Federer's opponents because as you can see, later in the match, it opened the down the line shot for Federer while Ferrer was pushed back in the other corner.

  • at 2:17. he got a brand new racket O.o...

where did that come from? so he got free racket every matches?

I really need an answer :O

    Please answer

    -Thanks

  • Its not exactly a new racket... federer got like 6 or 8 rackets, just as any other player. Depending on who federer is palying against, he will use a racket with a determined tension (changing the rackets tension will make you hit with more or less speed, more or less effect and more or less precision) the point is that, along a match, the racket you are using lose a bit of tension, so palyers usually bring to court many rackets with the same tension on it....

  • Oh Thanks =]

i thought that was a new racket lol

  • In every match players got 4 or more racquet's because when you play the racquet begins to lose it's tension. So they have to change them

  • unbelieveable...im speechless

  • a very very good tennis match, one of rogers best matches at 2007...

  • great match!!! roger at his best!!

this is from erichman isn't it????

  • what a match by roger i hope he can find his best tennis again and win the next tournaments

  • what a match by roger i hope he can find his best tennis again and win the next tournaments

  • At the end when they shook hands, it was obvious Ferrer was like "Wooh...You're the man..That's no lie." :D

  • And i guess u must have only watched the final of TMC. Did you know how great did Ferrer perform throughout the group matches? He has been showing consistent performance throughout 2007, if you really watch the matches he has won.

  • cosmo1980 u are so wrong. nadal, nalbandian, safin, djokovic can trouble federer when they are in good form. If federer is not that brilliant, thse top players would have claim the number 1 spot, because they are all so great.

  • C'mon Rog! Bounce back with a bit of this in Dubai!

  • well with proper warmup fed will be back like this again..... no warm up + stomach virus b4 Aussie open and still gets to the final = godlike

  • i agree...you cant win everything no matter who you are...its how you bounce back from defeat and failure that defines you as a champion...the lessons we learn from pain are the ones that make us the strongest :)

  • Very true, puredesi. (But also a terrible cliche)

  • But he was sick at Australian open !!

  • Federer played nowhere near this well at Aussie Open 2008 against Novak.

  • Yeah, he's MERCILESS here.

At least we know that at Roger's best, Novak wouldn't have won.

  • afther his loose against marat safin in 2005 he won the next slams all so federer knows how hard it is to win a slam lets see his reaction he will pass the sampras record in 2009 for sure then he is 28!!!

  • forgot to mention Tsonga.....He seems like a REALLY good attacking prospect.I loved the way he ripped Nadal apart..So much for all Nadal worshippers.Truth is,any good attacking serve and volleyer(the 90's kind) would kill Nadal on any surface other than clay.

  • Dude, there are a lot of quality players in this era !!Ferrer is a fantastic player, he beat djokovic , nadal, before getting to this final .how can he be below average????Some of you guys underestimate top ten players ,players in the top 100 for that matter, what you guys are forgetting is How good federer is !!Federer is taking tennis to a new level!!federer has to play at his absolute best to beat these players, dont look at the score it doesnt reflect the quality of the matches played!!

  • agreed with above. i am Serbian , just like djokovic, and i luv him, .. but i love tennis as a game , only bcoz of Federer. he makes it BEAUTIFUL!. PERIOD.

  • takes the ball soo early

  • roger is all over the court!! he's simply amazing!

  • Federer is not like this at the Australian Open.

  • 2:36 his facial expression is like "aww I actually put sum effort into that shot."

  • all tennis videos should be like this one in quality ..in order to see the ball ..

can't see it on clay court..

  • Not to take anything away from Novak.. but look at the venom Fed puts on his groundstrokes & serves in this match. His volleys were awesome too. Pity he didnt replicate this in the Aus Semis.

  • yes , you're right ..

and even his movement was'nt like that against Novak ...sometimes it was off ..

i hope he'll be well prepared for the upcoming tournments..

  • It didnt look like a preparation problem either (first two matches). But who really knows anything with Feds methods... if we doubt him, maybe he'll go and win the French. Should be entertaining nonetheless.

  • that 'll be entertaining ..i hope he can do it ..but you know i meant ..to come over his result in AO .and to create his "monster" again ..that's the way i like it ..

  • Amen to that.

  • :-)

  • :-)

  • Federer is unbelievable. He seemed to just lazily hit that ball at 7:25. Simply amazing.

  • Incredible break at 6:54!

  • Clinic.

  • at 8:28 incredible forehand

although he was out of balance

  • if Federer gets better than what he 's right now, all players are gonna start thinking about early retirement!

  • I love how Federer sets up the point at 5:40. He just keeps going to the backhand until the perfect opportunity to rip it down the line.

  • Ferrer does not belong at the net.

  • i totally agree with you

  • having good net play add more variety to your game

  • There's only one word I can think of to describe this: virtuoso.

  • he makes it look so damn easy

  • why did ferrer always hit the ball right to him as he approaches the net

  • And that slice... so patient -- so stoic and defensive. Each shot represents a side of Federer's game, and each shot complements each other so well... He's the avatar of tennis!

  • Lets see you go against federer, you won't be able to return his serve...

  • this performance from fed is out of this world as most of his performances are. I just cannot get enough of the fact that he is so beautiful to watch. I saw him in Basel open this year...but could not get close enough for a photo or autograph. I hope to get some fed memorabilia next year :D. I wish him all the best for the Golden Slam...3 weeks to go for AUS OPEN...i can hardly wait

  • what is it about Federer's forehand that makes it so effective? I mean, I'm sure there are 'stronger' guys out there. Like, maybe Gonzales or even Marat Safin in his prime. But Federer's forehand always looks and feels stronger, WHOEVER he's up against. Amazing talent.

  • its the way he keeps it unbelievably flat at all times. the other guys may have more raw power, but the way federer focuses it all is unmatched. plus this also means theres less time to see the ball whizzing over the net as apposed to big lopping shots that are at perfect height to smash back (like roddicks shots.) throw in his diversability and you get the greatest player born.

  • So why doesn't everyone hit it flat? Why the hell does Roddick insist on putting SO MUCH unnecessary top spin on his forehand? No one seems to capitalize on their raw power like Federer does. Anyway, yeah thx for the insight! :)

  • 7:15... that's an impossible point... only Roger can be able to do such an amazing thing...

  • Federer is the perfect example of the complete mastery of one handed backhand. No other players had ever mastered 1HBH as complete as Roger. One handed backhand, provided that all of the mechanism is done properly, is far superior than 2 handed backhand. Sorry that's not a debate that's a fact.

  • i agree man , if u do the right motion and mechanism u can shot in place that 2 handed backhand can not , 2 handed is maybe better when the ball is high , but anyway 1 handed rocks

  • One handed backhands are very potent, but on clay it is extremely tough, even for Federer or any of the best players with one hand backhands. To suceed on clay with a one hander, you have to be extremely aggressive or else you start to hit balls above your shoulder which is a lot weaker than around your waist. Guga has been like the only good clay court player with a one hand backhand.

  • Simply the best sportman of ever! come on roger. you`ll win Roland Garros next year.

  • It's not like the top 10 aren't good, it's just that Federer transitions so well between hitting different shots and doing it so masterfully that the other players have a hard time guessing where he is going to hit while trying to figure out what the heck he is trying to force them to do. It's not only that, but Federer's forehand and backhand seems so much more natural than Ferrer's forehand or Davydenko's forehand, or anyone's for that matter.

  • I completely agree, people always say federer does not have as much competition as sampras. this is so because federer is that good that just dismantle top 10 players easily, federer is so good at strategy and knows how to play the game very well.

  • The look on ferrer's face in the end says that he cant believe how great federer is!But who can??beyond the ordinary!!

  • WOW! ROGER FEDERER WINS! HE ROCKS! he's a great tennis player TOP NO.1!

  • federer's movement is just so fluent, and the way he just handles power hitters is amazing

  • great definition on this video!! :)

  • this guy is not human. HE'S NOT A FUCKING HUMAN BEING. he's some alien or something supernatural

    it's unreal. perfection. 10/10

i mean.. come on... can even god play tennis better than this? u ask me.. i say FUCK NO

this guys IS the greatest of all time.

  • I can only say... WOW.

  • There's one word to describe what federer did to ferrer: OWNED! :D

  • how can one person beat blake, gonzales, baghtis, nadal and roddick, all of whom were playing the tennis of their life?he is by far the greatest player to have picked a tennis racquet

  • its just funtastic watching his playing style the forehand, backhand slice, volley serves everyshot that he makeks its just fantastic!!! hopefully he can continue his physical fitness so that he can still play for the years to come

  • simply not human

  • Roger federer is a superior tennis player! He is almost invincible!!

  • its just fantastic tennis by roger federer! might be the greatest tennis player of his generation

  • No need to say might be, he is! just look at the numbers, he has already established a new record for longest number 1 ranking. also, he is one title away from having as many Grand Slam titles as Sampras. now federer is only 26(or 28 not sure), so he is going to beat that record also. we are watching THE best tennis player of all time. the day he retires is going to be the saddest of all for all tennis fans out there, so ENJOY =)

  • actually he's still two slams away from Pete (he has 12, to Sampras's 14) but still, you're right. He'll easily break that record, and probably by a large margin, because he is only 26.

  • the one at 4:40 is just weird!!!!!!

  • Hes unbelievable. federer has got to be the best player of all time

  • is it just me or does ferrer hit all his shots to the middle of the court and allowing federer not to run much...ferrer groundstoke are pretty bad for a top 6 player or whatever he is.

  • Federer taught God how to play tennis, except Nadal

  • observe ferrer's retarded shot selection

  • Yeah, that was pretty funny. Then he's all smiles at the end of the match, hahaha.

  • when he plays like this, he is invencible

  • amazing play by Roger! he's unbeatable when he plays like that!!

the videos are from erichman, aren't they?

  • no words left. for commenting on this high quality tennis.......

  • wow the best player on earth ever , greatest sports person i have seen in any sport let alone tennis , thanks for the video , great highlights , shots federer makes are like GOD playing tennis , he is GOD of Tennis no doubt

  • No way, Federer is not human, His level is amazing, simply the best of all time!

  • ferrer has such shitty volleys.

  • unbelievable player, i have to agree with that banner "genius at work" indeed.

  • Awesome... Unebeatble Federer..

  • I can't remember, in my 30 years of playing, watching and loving tennis, any other time in which I move my head horizontally sayin "no way!" because of so many unbelievable shots and winners. Roger Federer is the best of all time. Maybe a Rod Laver contemporary fan could say otherwise, I guess.

  • If I could, I'd play with Roger and get beat any day... just so I can learn! Roger is the best! Playing with good people only makes you good... don't play with scrubs!!!

  • nice vids of highlights!

  • great rallies, thankyou so much for putting this on!

  • God, was that ever lovely tennis or what? my favorite habit is watching Federer highlights on youtube ;) and yes Nadal is doomed on hard courts against him!

  • i liked last years vs. blake better, all those backhands

  • Go Roger, you is the best...Nadal, ah ah ah ah...

  • Wow. Amazing quality. Great vid.

  • the quality of tennis is incredible

hard luck ferrer but roger " nasty" federer cannot be stopped

  • ferrer played quite well actually.. that was just one hell of a performance from the fed.

  • Roger Federer is the all time greatest! Extra tennis again! GO FEDERER!

  • Too good ... way too good! ;)

  • let's go crazy! ^^ thanks for this highlights

  • that's a masterclass display..GO Roger!!

  • thank you thank you thank you!!!
