Always great watching your videos and unfortunately I believe that with the economy the way it is these gardens will become more and more important. They can be like the victory gardens that the British had during the WW2. Thanks Shawna.
Cool stuff. It's nice to see "Victory Gardens" in people's front yards. We have 5 gardens in Los Angeles, CA in containers, on patios, under stairs, & mixed in with the yard.
If we can garden here, then people can garden anywhere.
@TheNewAmericanMedia Love to hear of more gardens. HOORAY! Keep up the great work. I have a great full shade veggie garden. Shoot me a private note and I'll email you links if you like. Shawna
I have found that with these pots (they do dissolve but take so long) it is best to peel off or cut the bottom. At least thats the case with the peat pots, I cant tell which ones you have.
Great "howto" video for anyone thinking of starting a veggie garden. Looking forward to more updates...Keep on growing...P.S. I also have videos of my garden that I share with fellow You Tubers...If you have time check them out...Take care.
The soil is very important. Make sure your soil is from a reputable nursery or supplier. Sadly, some business interests out there are working to inhibit people from growing their own food. Buying a lot of bad dirt, than being discouraged to garden happens a lot. Look forward to future videos! Thanks for posting!
I'm thinking of planting five or six rows of sweetcorn in my front lawn just to see what my neighbors think. They pretty much know I am crazy already but I give them yard eggs, buy Girl Scout Cookies and sail frisbees back into the direction from whence they came. I'm pretty sure I can do front yard corn if I want to and I'm thinking I do.
@Wormfarmergeorge Love the idea of corn in the front yard, but I would check with your city first to see if they have some sort of special rules. If not - plant away! WOOT!
@TheCasualGardener I told my neighbor about my idea yesterday and she started laughing hysterically. When she caught her breath she asked me if Claudia, my wife, knew of my plans. I told her yes, but that she was not a free thinker like myself. "People have the power!"
@Wormfarmergeorge George, my husband does not garden. When I first started ripping out my grass in the back yard he was shocked. By the time I worked my way around to the front yard, he just let it go. Same with all my neighbors. They know the love I have in my heart and that I'm trying to do good.
Nice! 5*****s My wife & I are going to do this when we get to Fayetteville. We are Opening "The StoreHouse", where people like you donate their extra Organic Foods. We will have every immaginable food that we can grow! Of course we will have Clothing and other Items but our main goal is Food & Feeding! Thanks for your Channel!

I'm going to feed my family and let the "hungry" live off the alcohol and dope they buy with our tax money.

The ghetto denizens who are smoking crack they bought with my Tax Dollars, will not be eating food from my garden.
I do give food to my family and friends, because they are good decent people, so feeding them is not a waste of my hard work in the garden.
