  • Diet soda tastes repulsive, I couldn't give a damn whether it's good for you or not, tasting like it does.

  • This artificial sweetener was aspartame. Its not splenda. Aspartame has been shown to increase appetite. Splenda has not.

  • How about DietOramy program? Have you noticed this? I have discovered it aimlessly by scanning around and that info is outright remarkable... So I am dropping my extra body fat plus looking significantly more healthy.

  • toss off

  • Even if that study did happen, there's one problem, we aren't mice, humans have a choice. I drink diet soda, I love the flavor but you don't see me devouring chocolate it's because I have power to choose. But I haven't heard of the damage to DNA before, I quit soda. You have changed this man.

  • @Dynamiteglove Rats are actually quite smart and also have opinions

  • Can he seriously talk more slowly?

  • Diet Soda only makes fat people fatter. I guess every pro bodybuilder I know that drinks boatloads of diet soda can't get down to single digit bodyfat %...oh wait.

  • Do you have the link for this study? This sounds interesting.

  • Hello! Have you considered intellectus diet (google intellectus424dietcom)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my buddy lost tons of weight with it.

  • Dr. vincent Bellonzi Thanks for kind of information.

  • Diet coke should be used by skinny people because it will make you put on weight, not lose weight.

  • my music teacher from last year always had like six 6 packs of diet mountain dew... every time i saw him, he got fatter...

  • well with the mice its the fuck n cake that made them fat ,so you can drink the diet coke if you dont keep stuffing shit in your face

  • how bout drink water

  • Great post.

  • my health teacher is addictied to diet coke

  • Even when you posted this video in late 2007, NO ONE!! has a Myspace!!

  • but mostly the food that we eat everyday got sugar inside....hard to avoid it.

  • @unnim Makes sense.. thanks :)

  • hmmm... not everyone is the same. I just dropped 96 lbs, drinking a lot of diet drinks, not really making me hungry. At least I just don't notice it in any way.

  • @soho2014 u might wanna be careful on consuming too much diet drinks. they have aspartame and it is very dangerous in the long run.

  • Love how the ad to the right of the video is for Pizza Hut,

$8 - Medium / $10 - Large. Hmmmmmm This guy said nothing about trying to avoid that!

  • @Goatacon empty calories. all fat

  • dude Regular drink don't have SUGAR. They use CORN SYRUP. Which is worse that artificial sweeteners.

  • @chosa01 It's called sucrose

  • 100% of truth!

  • oh yeah i love you !!

  • I replace my desserts and junk food with diet soda. Mice are not people. I have drank diet soda for years and am 11% bodyfat at 6'2". Artificial sweeteners are not going to kill you.

  • @Retrowinter Its called a fast Metabolism, dumbass.

  • @EthansEntertainment People are fat because they consume excessive amounts of food. I manage my weight. It's called self-control. Not one person has died from Splenda or Aspartame. Um, isn't hfcs and refined sugars the shit that causes people to have a fucking heart attack? This is bullshit.

  • @Retrowinter idiot. u totally missed the poimt......but then most idiots do.

  • @JulietsMan Wow, I missed the poimt? What is a "poimt"?

  • @Retrowinter hahaha opps

  • Comment removed

  • @Retrowinter spoken like a true garden variety addict in denial hahahahahaaahahhahaahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • The best store bought juice to drink is Low Sodium V8 (or similar product). 8oz contains:

    Vitamin A 35%

    Vitamin C 120%

    Potassium 630mg

    Sugar 6g

  • Diet soda gives me the munchies. Not just cake type junk, but chip tip junk too.

  • y do u recommend stevia?

  • @fundip43 stevia gets u high......i got so fucked up. i smoked it and then shoved some in my ass. i saw tracers man and everything was funny hahhahahaahahahahahahahah

  • @JulietsMan ok?

  • What about Organic Sugar?

  • this video was very informative thank you

  • dammit , I can't do it without the diet soda! I need to be locked up to break this sweet addiction

  • @teencantareggaeton all he basically said was that diet drinks may cause you to be more suscepitable to eating foods that are high in sugar. He didnt once give a reason as to why or how the processed sugar in diet drinks is bad in and of its self. I have done research on this myself the FDA said they didnt find ne thing wrong with Aspertine in and of its self. Diet soda doesnt have the calories or fats to make people fat. Its a marketing ploy by Drs to get people to drink healthy. Nothing wrong-

  • @teencantareggaeton nothing's wrong with that, but its essentially the same tactic being used by the big companies that try to play off all thier unhealthy ingrediants as being "ok when in moderation". Why not just say the simple truth and let the people decide? Diet soda does not make people fat because it lacks the calories and fats. If it gets u addicted to cake, then its the cake making you fat, not the soda. Correalation does not prove causation.

  • @ikcjjtt one big reason y its hard to tell the truth is that its hard for everyone to understand wats going on with you body. it take alot of time to full educate people on the reason for the hype of things like msg sweeteners and HFCS. and not everyone can commite the time or remain interested for that long

  • @fundip43 commitment

  • @teencantareggaeton try kool aid with truvia (made with stevia, a sweet herb)

they make soda with it but you have to order it.

  • wen ever I have a diet soda at nite I can't go 2 sleep easily. Tat is wen I found out these processed & sugary stuff is rubbish and going bac to good old days of eating fresh food like in my grandparents days r te best 4 health. Eat fresh, use less fat and be active all day long is wat te new generation need 2 go bac 2.

  • i love organic rice coffee

  • I'll take beetroot or cane sugar over some random chemicals any day.

  • fake. check out the proof for it at sexy-and-fit(com)

It has been proved that diet coke is a piece of sh*t just read the article.

  • another of the same kind, enjoy

  • Any sugar isnt going to be good a human trying to get healthy. That Nutr@ chemical is plain waste. It should never suggest to be nutricious in name. Finaly this doctor here can bring good common sense to us. And with a smile! If you want to get better you better listen up! You are your own doctor and can heal yourself with just water and the right foods, an hour light excersise and good sleep. Do the research. Get a great life. Bless you!

  • This guy sounds a bit like christopher walken

  • i drink diet drinks only, and i lost the small amount of weight i had and im scrawny now, and i've been working out but i don't like surgary foods they're nasty and make me have a stomach ache

  • I usually just drink one tall glass of water with fresh-squeezed lemon/lime juice in it every morning. It's actually good for the body.

  • @ChibiVegito i do the same, i grab a pitcher squeeze some lemons and fill it up with fresh water to drink it during the day

  • @ChibiVegito you should also add some stivia to the water.

  • @Gideon359 *stevia

  • @ChibiVegito Yes, that's great.

  • This just makes me sooo friggin angry~ ya drink the "diet stuff" to keep cals. down or none and now THIS!? WOWA~

  • I drink flavored seltzer water. No sodium, sugar, artificial sweetners, or caffeine.

I put frozen berries in it sometimes for a treat. Delicious.

  • Man i drink like a 6 pack a day of these things. I was stitching to just water. today when i seen this.

  • if you want to make food taste bad, add salt to sugary foods, that would kill your appetite in no time! haha! 'course it would make you throw up too..

  • haha i love this guy, he looks so humble all the time! kinda reminds me of a psychology professor i once had back in college. for some reason, this guy has a very trusting face.

  • we aint fucking mice

  • Please visit NOASPA.com to vote on the aspartame issue

  • if you want to drink soda, try the All Natural Red Bull Coke ( it is made by redbull, but doesnt contain redbull) it is just pure coke from natural ingridients. Research it. It is what I drink if I want some coke.

  • we aint rats!!

  • @Theipodman56 that is very true but going on how popular diet soda is in the US and how fat people are getting i would say there is very strong circumstantial evidence to conclude that the effect in the rats is the same in humans

  • @Theipodman56 but we are physiologically very similar to them :)

  • They gained more weight than people drinking the soda with sugar? What soda in the USA is made with sugar? It's not sugar, it's High Fructose Corn Syrup - another excitotoxin.

  • It's not the artificial sweetner's fault if people who are trying to lose weight simply cannot because they lack self-discipline when it comes to abstaining from the consumption of sweets. Know your body and consume in moderation!

If you're ignorant enough to drink an artificially sweetened drink along with eating a huge slice of cake and thinking that you will not gain weight because the two cancel each other out, you're delusional and need to be prepared to suffer the consequences.

  • aspartame ( a sweetner in diet drinks, candy, medicine, ect) forms cancer, diabetes, and even forms holes in your brain, and thats not even a fourth of the negative side effects.

  • I thought I was eating healthy. I really didn't each that much food in terms of volume or calories each day. I usually ate a couple of bananas a day, dried fruit snacks, a good cereal, 3-4 cups of skim milk a day, etc. I was taking in at least 200g a day of sugar!! No wonder I couldn't lose weight. I have almost knocked out all sugar and carbs from my diet. In 14 days I have lost 11 lbs & 2 in from my waist. Oh, I was also drinking 4-5 cans of diet Coke each day. That's gone now too.

  • @halflinks

The soda itself doesn't make you fat. Did you even watch the video? lol

  • Look up Billy meier, and Bringers of the dawn if you havent alerady =)

  • I used to add "sweet-n-low" to my black tea - but only 1/3 a sachet per cup, not to kill tea's taste.

How often can you see people in coffee bars adding 2-5 splendas per cup of coffee, thinking "spenda is safe for you"...

People are so addicted to sugar, then when they become diabetic, or on the verge of it, they want to achieve that same sweetness of sugar they used to eat.

How many sachet of equal (aspartame) are there in a bottle/can of Coke?

  • ill take a Super Size number one with a diet coke please! lol

  • wait the soda im drinking a soda that has no sugar and it has natural flavor

is it still bad :( also it has carbonated water

    0 protein

    0sugars

    total carb. 0grams

    total fat 0

    sodium 35mg

    calories 0

is it still bad im drinking

    Diet Pepsi

  • @marlene554 Natrual flavor isnt natrual its made in a lab with things that are natrual

  • @marlene554

A lot of it is about the sweeteners that are used, such as aspartame and sucralose. They are foreign to your body and either gets stored in your organs as toxicity or gets trapped in your fat cells, to be released into your body when you lose weight =P

and the reason diet soda doesn't really help you lose weight is, even though it has no sugar or calories, the chemicals make you crave bad food and eat more of it when you get it, just like the mice.

  • I wanna know something. While I've seen enough evidence to prove that diet coke can be very bad for you. But what about unsweetened stuff at all? The only fizzy drink I drink on any real basis is club soda, which is technically just carbonated water. Does it have any effect at all?

  • I bought some muffins a year ago that had aspartame (used in all artificial sweeteners) in it instead of sugar, I got a huge headache the lasted 5 hours from eating that.

So I did research, found out aspartame is basically a toxin, there's a documentary somewhere that shows how aspartame in diet drinks and gum's destroyed many peoples lives.

  • I have a question about sugar. which is more healthful to take, Refined sugar or Brown sugar and why?

  • @12lipa brown, cause its not bleached or councraited

  • @12lipa brown sugar. it is more natural and isnt processed

  • @N8mont4 Brown sugar is made of... *drum roll* WHITE SUGAR coated in molasses! It's processed for sure! Look it up.

  • This comparison is nonsense.

I've consumed diet drinks and I've never felt any ridiculous urge to consume anything with sugar. This has no information to show that artificial sweeteners are dangerous.

The fact is that artificial sweeteners are not natural. Diet soda are okay in moderation. Say 1 or 2 diet drinks a week. That's acceptable. Caffeine is much more dangerous in my opinion, because of what it does to the cells of the body. Causing blood vessels to unnaturally expand.

  • You are right, most people don't believe me about the sugar impulse!!! A good example is my family. I was overweight at one point, but nobody in my family is except for my unlce and his wife because all they drink is diet soda. My uncle compulsivley eats Maple Bars (a doughnut) and doughnuts and cakes for no reason in mass quantities. I drink diet soda but it's rare. Watching this video i was drinking a diet pepsi. lol ironic eh? But anyways, truth be told, our mentality is our own choice.

  • 1:27-1:40 i lold hard just imagining it.

  • Comment removed

  • @deliight

you won't drink if you watch this video

  • Comment removed

  • Wow this is so true.

  • thats the point hes trying to make you fucking moron

  • 40,000 deaths still outweigh it...

  • Awesome video! 100% True!

  • So diet sodas are not safe to drink???

  • of course they are not

  • @Major2219 No, not safe!

  • Not so much.. depends what you call safe.. it's like saying vaccines are safe.. people die, get ill... etc..

  • Finally The Diet Solution here: watch?v=6LhODQFSxdM

  • the other reason y diet is much more dangerous to ur health is that people actually consume more diet than regular for the fact they think that its diet anyways

  • This is a very interesting video, the fact that you can become addicted to these chemicals.

  • I know, I just found out this..and it's terrible..Im already an addicted..:S

  • Thx for the information. So sad. Cola are sooo good!

  • I NEEDED IT! With a larger volume of cardio plus a healthy eating pattern, I managed to lose my standard 1lb per week. But it was HARD, and HARD to maintain. I thought I just wanted more food later on. Most of the food I ate later on was still relatively healthy, but it was higher in calories and I ate more of it. In2008 I realized that the diet soda was needlessly stimulating my appetite. I gave it up and my bodyfat dropped EASILY (Now 6%) and my desire for all these extra calories VANISHED!

  • Thnks for your info, I'm living that case , large cardio, weight training..healthy eating..and nothing, I'll stop those chemicals right now

  • HEY, great to hear you're getting the scoop on diet soda. I never imagined that diet soda could have this effect on my desire for food, sugar and more diet coke. Quite simply...IT DOES! I had heard about this rat study on a bodybuilding and fitness website. The video above confirms what I've read.Skmgirl, over the next few weeks as you remove the diet soda products from your eating pattern, you'll watch in complete disbelief as your appetite and desire for processed flour/sugar foods disappears.

  • You should only do cardio to relax and at most 5 minutes. Too much stress in cardio just make you gain weight

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO!! I'm a very healthy natural foods consumer. My goal is always getting and maintaining low bodyfat..bodybuilding etc. For 3-4 years my diet was clean on most of the time, but developed the habit of diet soda...out of the tap at certain restaraunt with healthy alternative food choices. 4 of the 5 meals I consumed daily were extremely healthy and lean. But by dinner time I couldn't wait for another diet coke and food more processed or with sugar. It's not that I just wanted it.....

  • I've cut sugar out of my diet competely. I don't miss it, I don't crave anything, and I'm uninterested in it. Of course I have fructose, because I eat fruit, and of course I have lactose, because I drink milk, but I've switched to goats milk because it's digested in half an hour as suppsed to eight hours. But I haven't drunk soft drinks for six years, and I'm getting lots of vegetables in next week's shop (Gonna try the Japanese diet). I love this video 5/5 stars

  • I'm working on cutting out refined sugars right now. I wish the US didn't have such a sugary culinary culture.

  • Excellent! :-D Keep up the good work, it's 100% worth it. :-)

  • I love your videos, you tell it like it is!

  • Us grapefruit juice (100%) bad? I know it has fructose in it, but it's natural (presumably). I cut out soda from my diet and drink 100% grapefruit juice, am I any better off?

  • Health wise, yes.

    Weight wise, no.

I stay away from fruit juices. Drinking a glass of apple juice, for example, is like eating 5 apples within a few seconds, gulping down a ton of quick-to-the-blood fruit sugar, with no other real benefits but vitamins.

  • I try to stay away from Apple Juice because of how sugary it is, but Grapefruit juice doesn't taste as sugary. Grapefruit juice (100% grapefruit juice) is the only juice I drink and I actually thought I was doing myself a favor by not drinking HFCS which is in every single sweetened drink on the market in the US. HFCS is supposed to be addicting and even worse than regular sugar. What do recommend drinking then? Just plain old water?

  • I'm not saying you can't drink fruit juices. I just go over the top with trying to stay lean.

In moderation, it'll be good for you, just don't over do it.

Grape juice is, in my opinion, better than apple or orange juice. Grape juice is good for the heart.

Keep drinking it, just don't over do it, and definitely don't make it your main beverage.

If you're concious of your weight, and overall health, water ***HAS*** to be your #1 liquid source.

  • Plain old water is what I drink.

  • Okay but on a diet pepsi it has the little green health check :) jeez. and mice/rats or whatever aren't like humans. and people who are on diets learn not to overeat and control there eating habits (whome drink diet berverages)

  • you've missed the point i fear

  • no, im not. go shut your lips

  • um what? i didn't say you were anything

  • This doctor is not an orator.

  • im drinking a water that is flavored with sucralose right now; but i think aspartame

is probly bad news from what ive heard

i also would recomend stevia and have not tried xylotol or sobitol besides in chewing gum and mints

  • Water, sucralose and aspartame are all harmless. Stop worrying yourself to death!

  • just comes down to self control, but this is interesting man

  • i have a question, this isnt related, but i was remended of it, ive eaten different types of cheese, with things added to it, nothing bad just the normal stuff, but i tried eating pure mozzarella cheese and it made me feel really sick,... any idea why?

  • some dairy just doesnt agree with people

  • if your weight was 75 pounds then you might gain weight hahaha

1200 calories qtpie99 i hope that you dont weigh 75 pounds

yes chief fiber boosts metabolism and so does spicy foods but if you starve yourself 'with a boosted metabolism what do you think will hapen?

your body will store it all as fat every thing you eat will be stored cause your body is in survival mode

  • Not exactly.

The human body needs to burn at least 1000 calories a day to meet its basic mebolic needs. (For most people, it's higher.) Ingested food is the first to get razed for caloric energy, with carbohydrates being the primary candidates.

  • i dont see any disagreement here with what i said above?

  • Diet soda doesn't cause weight gain. I drink a can a day. I eat 1000-1200 of healthy calories, no sugary foods at all. And I don't crave sweets. Diet soda is the only thing that satisifies my sweet cravings so I don't binge on high calories sugary foods. It's sounds like people who are fat and drink diet drink diet soda to justify their poor food juices.

I'm not saying it's good for you, but it won't make you gain weight alone. It's ultimately your food choices that matter.

  • you eat 1200 calories how are you sposed to gain weight anyway? your body weight multiplied by 16 equals

the amount of calories you should eat

  • You can gain weight while only consuming 1200 calories a day. Studies have shown that aspartame slows your metabolism and if you combine that with eating only one or two meals a day, that's definitely possible. Your metabolism is half the battle to lose weight. Eat food that increases metabolism (fiber) and eat small portions often.

  • What nonsense. I weigh 365 and according to you I should eat 5840 calories a day! I only eat about 2,000.

  • for those trying to gain weight!

hahaha try sticking to that 2000

    plenty of fibre and exercise

it seems that you might be overweight

not trying to offend but you would do well juice fasting

  • My weight stayed the same when I was hooked on diet softdrinks. Though, I did develop some scary ms-like symptoms. They've mostly resolved since I stopped with the diet sodas 6 months ago. That stuff is no joke. Heed the warnings.

  • sugar does not cause diabetes - you are predisposed to contract it (genes) - and your health habits (diet, activity) contribute to your contracting the disease

  • your a dumb ass you know that right

  • Yeah whatever but I´m studying for may exams right now and it´s not like I am going to drink 2L of regular coke to stay awake... I bet my diet coke won´t make me fat (as long as I don´t overeat, which I won´t because I need my bloodstream focused on my brain and not my stomach)

  • drink coffee and you ll be allright

  • It´s what I ended up doing, thanks... I really don´t like diet coke that much because it makes me hungry, and I don´t drink regular coke because of the sugar. And coffee has waaay more caffeine, so I gues that you are right and that it´s waaay better

  • american breakfast fried egg bacon hash brown coffee cream sugar hahahahaha

  • oh, the shit we humans create.

I love it. A big, fat cesspool of chemically altered

    lard asses and nit wits.

The funny thing is, good nutrition and health practices have been around for thousands of years and humans still pursue any excuse to not eat healthy and exercise. Fuck em all. You get what you deserve.

  • no one could've said it better

  • some people do have a tuff time understanding nutrition

if people knew that they could eat a clove of garlic to prevent stroke or heart atack

i sure they would arent you?

my thought is that people die of lack of knowledge thats why certain foods help

to do certain things in the body

  • Some people would eat the bad stuff no matter what.

  • @Luvanicebum My dad used to be 250 pounds one day he said to him self he was gonna run every single day for 3 months. he did AND LOST FRIGGIN 100 POUNDS WAY TO GO DAD!

  • I gained alot just bacause of sweeteners like Splenda and Sweet and Low, and then i lost 20 pounds withing a couple months after I gave up drinking tea or coffee with sweeteners

  • I drink diet soda often enough. I have since I was a kid. I also have a BMI of 20.0. A body fat percentage of 8 (hydrostatically measured.) The last time I visited the doctor (about 6 months ago) I was told that I'm in near perfect health.

  • Except that you're a douche

  • @SuperZzz1234 me too i was in good health too when i drink some diet soda when i visit a doctor in years. right now i drinking diet Pepsi wild cherry :D

  • I lost weight when I gave up all sweetner and am not yet a 100% yet but am getting better

  • What I find odd is that most Americans in particular don't learn about nutrition as they grow older. They continue and still want to eat the way they did when they were kids and teens, and they wonder why they're fat, etc.. when they get older.

  • also you got to remember there is degrees of fat. a small minority are unhealthily obese the rest are just outside societies narrow acceptable weight which is pushed by the media because it sells diets that dont work and there is huge money in weight loss

  • To people here-- Realize that nutrition isn't as simple as good fat, bad fat, good cholesterol, bad cholesterol... and that weight loss has a lot more factors than just calorie intake and exercise-burned calories.

  • that's complete bullshit.

NO artificial sweetner is good for you.

  • People die everyday because of it - you just don't hear about it in the papers because the drug/food companies put of their OWN studies on it.

  • the thousands of people who die from type 2 diabetes
