Why can't anyone but Maxis manage to make a decent city builder game? Cities XL 2011, and probably the 'players will buy anything' sequel Cities XL 2012 all have horrible, buggy engines and terrible controls. They should just remake Simcity 4 in 3D and add some nice features. That would sell like cake.

@jarret747400 Hmm might depend on your operating system. I've got an I7 laptop with Windows 7 64 bit and the game just totally lags; rendering it near unplayable. My laptop can run this no problem in terms of power but there seems to be compatibility issues in my case so sadly that all comes to nothing. Looked to be a fun game and I just hope my older XP laptop can run it :)

Hi all, I would just like to add if I could that this Cities in Motion game may have taken the insiration of the ide from the never updated Jowood Productions Traffic Giant and as some have said Sim City Franchise.

I've played it some hours now and I've played through the tutorials... Damn this is so freaking hard to play :O failed 4 games alrdy (playing easy) and every single time im not doing any profit. Basicly its 100 times harder than Transport Tycoon and 50 times harder than SimCity :O Hoped to see someone made a gameplay video here, but there are none!

I am confused why you guys are thinking this is a good sequel to SimCity 4? You are not dealing with the building of a city. The is more of a sequel to Jowood's City Giant. Now that was a fun game.

This looks like a very promising game however there are a few suggestions I have.

1. Is it possible for them to add bicycles as an available mode to pick from? One of the cities featured is be Amsterdam so it is just incomplete without cyclists and bike paths.

2. Can crosswalks be striped? The game looks very plain without them.

3. Can a traffic signal feature be added? I would love to have a great traffic signal game for once.

This looks like a very promising game that I would buy!

@fancarolina I tried XL 2011 and I think if I'd played it before SC4 then I'd be hooked but as a SC fanatic I just could get over the things I loved about SC that weren't in the game. The way Zones don't really grow from small to large buildings, the few transportation options, the lack of the micromanagement I really liked in SC. I wasn't a SC4 replacement to me at least and I went back to laggy SC4 (I'd settle for a new patch to address the Multi core problems).

They did the same thing with The Sims. They drove it into the ground.

Cities XL was a disappointment. I play SC4 more than any of em.

@peniosasdasd Totally Agreed. Cities XL really let me down and the sims didnt get much better after the 2nd one. I bought SC4 a few months after it came out and I still play it to this day.

@thesatsui Me too, or other similar games like, if I remember well, Transport Giant. But the number of 30 vehicles for the whole 100 years of transportation seems to me really a small number -.-
