It looks good but I bet they would end up on their hands and knees, I prefer to under hook the left leg If I am mounted on their right side and punch it out towards the mat, it makes their hips turn straight up again. Can you arm bar them in the same move and have the arm bar under your armpit?
They can only come up to their knees if you mess up! To see this in action watch Margarida vs Pe de Pano from the Yamasaki 2005 Tournament. If it works on 2x World Absolute Champ Pe de Pano it can work on anyone.
Another variation of this drill could be applied also. I get in the same situation almost every training session, the guy begins to shrimp out and almost every time bellies down. So instead of just switching sides which would be ideal couldnt you also practice if he bellies all the way down going to his back? Thanks
This spin will also take you to his back on the far side if you can't catch his arm and he gets to his knees. This happens all the time in high level matches, watch Cobrinha, Roberto Abreau, Bill Cooper, other guys who have movement based games. This spin keeps you in control and puts you in great attack position whether you end up in side control or on his back.
Thanks for the great drill. As far as application, it seems like once you've swung the first leg over and turned, you are in position to sit back and lock in the armbar. Am I correct in this interpretation?
that is nice I never seen that one before

Your opponent gives you his back? Is that a Judo class you're in?

I was about to ask the same exact thing. But I think he's just showing how to transition, if he were in the position I'm sure he's taking the armbar.

It's possible but guys that more experienced might see it coming and so it's another option
