...so I heard Solomon Burke died today. The radio news reporter hailed him as the greatest male "rock and soul singer." I immediately thought of Dusty. Has she gotten the acclaim she deserves?

What songs would fall under this? Just curious because I hadn't noticed her voice show any sign of weakening until perhaps after her "lost years" during which she fell into substance abuse (which may have negatively impacted her voice).

yet another quality live performance of dusty's, worthy of a proper record release at the time (as most of it was). none of the katy's, emma's or karen's of this world (or anyone else for that matter) will ever be able to capture the pure magical genius of britain's great dusty springfield. there can only be one and dusty really is 'the one and only'
