I just wear concealer, foundation, powder, light green eyeshadow (not bright at all) eyeliner (only on top) mascara and lip gloss. I HATE it when girls think school is like a fashion show and wear like glittery shit to school every day.
I personally wear makeup every-day to school because without makeup, I feel quite bare and it just lowers my confidence. But I'm NOT the type of girl who wears a ton of makeup. I just wear: tinted moisturizer/foundation, mascara, eyshadow (with primer), high-lighter, powder (oily skin) and lipbalm. My eyeshadow is literally the same color as my skin besides my browbone highlight.
I never understood girls who wore makeup in high school... I was like, "Why? It makes you look too damn grown!!!" -- and they acted grown, too! I wore lipgloss in high school as well. Confidence should come from who you are- not how you look! I never had that issue, thank God.

I don't think there's anything wrong with spening a few minutes on makeup, but there's no need for "the works" early in the morning. But if you can get up early enough to do yourself up, why not?
Oh my gosh people on here are screaming at each other haha. I agree with you Lauren, but for me when I was in high school I had to deal with acne so I kinda concealed that to feel more confident. I never went all out to apply colored eyeshadow, I would just do simple natural looking make-up to "enhance my beauty." Better not to wear TOO much makeup at school. Yes, girls in high school are experimenting with their look. Yes, girls in high school have the right to wear makeup (to enhance NOT to cover up).
I work in one of the best hospitals in Western Canada and I'll tell you this: None of the intelligent, self-respecting FEMALE doctors wear that much makeup. The most I've seen them wear is some mascara.
Focus on your studies. If you can use makeup at the same time, hey, that's a bonus. AWESOME video.

I have to disagree, ihave a 3.95gpa and i LOVE makeup i want to do it as a side job. I don't think makeup should come before studies but there must be a balance to life and i think it's possible to have a good breakfast,do well in school, get to school early, study and all that and still use makeup :) If you (general) can't tell that school is more important than makeup and therefore balance out the two...that's unfortunate!
Makeup is a part of growing up that I think highschool girls have the option to become involved with or not. Personally my makeup doesn't interfere with any part of my school work being in all advanced classes with straight A's and being in the top 10% of my class. No argument, just sharing my story.

I'm a junior in high school & I actually kind of appreciate this. I do wear makeup sometimes, but I'm usually very neutral with it unless I have extra time because I do need to focus more on school. I dont care about popularity or what people think, i do everything i do for me. This is the first year I STOPPED wearing makeup and I'm a Junior in high school. The only reason I ever did was because of my blemishes, but now that I have that taken care of and don't have any more, I don't need makeup. I still like a little eyeliner but that's it.

I personally wear makeup every-day to school because without makeup, I feel quite bare and it just lowers my confidence. But I'm NOT the type of girl who wears a ton of makeup. I just wear: tinted moisturizer/foundation, mascara, eyshadow (with primer), high-lighter, powder (oily skin) and lipbalm. My eyeshadow is literally the same color as my skin besides my browbone highlight.

I never understood girls who wore makeup in high school... I was like, "Why? It makes you look too damn grown!!!" -- and they acted grown, too! I wore lipgloss in high school as well. Confidence should come from who you are- not how you look! I never had that issue, thank God.

I never wore make up at school and too be honest none of my friends did! Its one of the things I'm so glad I didn't bother with cause at the end of the day nobody really cares what make up you wear or if u wear mascara. If you have got problem skin just use an anti blemish concealer.

Oh my gosh people on here are screaming at each other haha. I agree with you Lauren, but for me when I was in high school I had to deal with acne so I kinda concealed that to feel more confident. I never went all out to apply colored eyeshadow, I would just do simple natural looking make-up to "enhance my beauty." The maximum time I would spend doing my make-up in the morning was like 15 mins :]
And I know that high school is tough for teens, they have to deal with so much criticism :/

Better not to wear TOO much makeup at school. Yes, girls in high school are experimenting with their look. Yes, girls in high school have the right to wear makeup (to enhance NOT to cover up).
I work in one of the best hospitals in Western Canada and I'll tell you this: None of the intelligent, self-respecting FEMALE doctors wear that much makeup. The most I've seen them wear is some mascara.
Focus on your studies. If you can use makeup at the same time, hey, that's a bonus. AWESOME video.

This is not a hypocritical or misleading video...her opinion IS her best school make up tutorial/advice thing ever. You don't need wild make up for school, I see lots of girls who cake on so much at school and it's just like UGH...only exception is if you legitimately want to have a career with make up. But throughout middle school- high school years...you really dont' need A LOT of make up on at all. IMO.

I have to disagree, ihave a 3.95gpa and i LOVE makeup i want to do it as a side job. I don't think makeup should come before studies but there must be a balance to life and i think it's possible to have a good breakfast,do well in school, get to school early, study and all that and still use makeup :) If you (general) can't tell that school is more important than makeup and therefore balance out the two...that's unfortunate!

Makeup is a part of growing up that I think highschool girls have the option to become involved with or not. Personally my makeup doesn't interfere with any part of my school work being in all advanced classes with straight A's and being in the top 10% of my class. No argument, just sharing my story.

I'm a junior in high school & I actually kind of appreciate this. I do wear makeup sometimes, but I'm usually very neutral with it unless I have extra time because I do need to focus more on school. I don't NEED makeup, it's just something I enjoy doing. :) I like how you were different enough to give us advice instead of trying to sell us products/show us what we "should" be doing.

Its not hypocritical because she is NOT SAYING NOT TO WEAR MAKEUP AT ALL. She is saying specifically for school. Instead of spending "x" amount of time in the mirror doing makeup to go to school it would be more beneficial to use your time more productively that will actually benefit your school career later down the line and getting attention from people for your looks is not a priority. There's nothing wrong with wanting to boost your self esteem but there's a time and place for it

I dont care about popularity or what people think, i do everything i do for me. Hm, I can't say I really agree, but I'm not going to have a meltdown like some choose to. Instead, I'll explain myself.
I think that if it makes you feel pretty, then do it. If you don't like wearing makeup, don't. If you do, all the power to you.
Now I hardly wear any makeup, sometimes I have more fun with it but normally I'm just for powder and a bit of mascara.
It doesn't interfere with my schoolwork, and I like how it looks. That's how I see it. If you like it, do it!

This is the first year I STOPPED wearing makeup and I'm a Junior in high school. The only reason I ever did was because of my blemishes, but now that I have that taken care of and don't have any more, I don't need makeup. I still like a little eyeliner but that's it.

Totally agree. Personally, I actually do wear quite a bit of makeup at school, but I don't feel like I, or anyone else, NEEDS to wear makeup at school, and a lot of girls at my school don't.
