  • To add; I have read his books, watched his videos and listened to his cds. The now is where it's at.Just this poorly structure "society" makes it very difficult to practice. The ego and brain chatter don't help much either. I guess this tv guy would have a hell of a time with the ego thing,or for that matter living in the now.He would likely be out of a job. Theres an idea!

  • i love Paris, i'm quite surprised that she is spiritual, though i always knew she wasn't an airhead, on the contrary possibly quite intelligent

  • I know this is my ego speaking, but Eckhart is great! The host is quite dumb, and selfish too

  • As a Christian it has become clear to me that the the definition of exactly what that means, it's totally subjective. My school-of-thought+also the denomination I 'grew up in' clearly offer a perspective other than what fundamentalists believe. Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie+Nisargadatta & many others offer what, for me, helps fill in gaps of understanding..Integration of what I learned in church+other possibilities, is what has helped me choose Life today.

  • Tolle enjoys sitting on the thinking bench too. The thinking bench is indeed bliss.

  • @Jaboie What do you mean? He's opposed to most types of thinking...his books are about how to stop the incessant thinking and whatnot and key into the present.

  • @tvswnet He speaks of the bench in the park that he would sit for hours and think. He said he was enjoyed sitting on it. An old friend of mine had a park bench that he would sit on and smoke his medical marijuana and just think for hours. So I said Tolle enjoys sitting on the thinking bench too. Like my friend did.

  • @Jaboie Yes, but he says he sat there being, as opposed to thinking. Thoughts will happen, but his whole contention is that the more we think, the less we ARE (and the more we miss of "reality" by creating the thoughts). I've had both experiences (Tolle's & like your friend), and they're different 8-) His stuff can be very hard to put into a workable context though, that's true. That said, we can BE more than we think we can...because we're thinking we can/can't instead of BEing ;)

  • @Jaboie - That's a bit wrong. His time on the park bench was mostly in a blissful state of not thinking.

  • This was simply throwing pearls before swine. Echkart Tolle wasted his time being interviewed by this ignoramus.

  • @taxfundi How could any of us waste time? Time can be helpful but it's not real. It's based on the relationship[s] of *at least* 1 thing to *at least* 1 other thing....consider heavenly bodies: planets, stars., etc....if they stopped moving, in our awareness, nothing 'existing-in-time' would seem true...One Love~One World [ultimately]. and this is only my inspired opinion..yours is equally as valid, always..<3

  • fuck the bible

  • Well I'm sure he gets annoyed but then he lets it go and moves on.

  • I learned the misery of the "mind games" and the "ego", and the importance of the "now" with Kiranji. Now I see many teach the same concepts.

  • aaaaah don´t you love the fucking haters ?? why can´t people just accept that´s just a guy who´s trying to make this world a better place. if you don´t like it just walk away

  • I thought for a second we were going to have a John Stewart moment!

    Did you catch that?

  • tolle is probably one of the best spiritual teachers in my oppinion. he associates many religions points and perspectives to bring out truth. i thank him for what he has made me realise.

  • Mysticism is the doctrine that a personal experince with the divine self, the soul, can be had which leads to illumination and a profound and transformative experience that is the essence of all esoterical teachings. The esoterical teachings of Christ are concerned with man getting in touch with his self, with the kingdom of heaven. Sadly, many so called Christians are stuck with the outer orthodox teachings and dogmas and do not understand that they are just a guide so often distorted.

  • Tolle is not a pseudo mystic because he actually had the profound illumination which has changed his being; and this is what is sought after by all true mystics. Plus, he is not advocating that this is new as someone said. This is the experience that all religious founders have tried to encourage everyone to experience. Meditation is a technique that should one day bring you to a real realization of that peace profound that is symbolized in the search for the Holy Grail.

  • The ego is more than our thoughts. It is the composite of out human belief systems, our personal and human sense of self.

  • Tolle is a pseudo-mystic.

  • Ohh my hero

  • The thing that separates his books from other books on that subject is how easy to understand they are. He writes it in such a clear way. They are really...fucking amazing. Changed my life in a huuuge way.

  • I believe the guy interviewing ET has misrepresented his advice. ET never said that thinking was the problem, it is our obsession with our mind & it's seductive nature to always grabs the focus of our conscious attention, this is the source of our species heightened anxiety.

In the same way that our heart beats our mind creates thoughts, it really just a question of whether or not we focus our attention on them. Cognition is a very recent evolutionary milestone, we are like kids with a new toy.

  • "Doctrines of demons"! I laughed my ass off at that one!

  • Well Eckhart's teachings are nothing new - in fact in a book called Unmasking the New Age by Doug Groutthis written in 1985 he exposed this teaching before Eckhart even knew about it!

How? I told you - Tolle's New Earth is nothing new.

Check my channel right now I have two vids on this

  • @matt3i6 I just don't see the relevance that statement.

  • @matt3i6 Yes. Loads of people realise the deepest truth, all around the world.

  • @matt3i6 Well its not really a competition of who came first or any of that bullshit. None of that matters. What matters is the information. Whether its from Tolle's book or any other book on the subject. Right?

  • @matt3i6 nothing new ? :P Daaa, it's been around for thousands of years. Ever heard of Buddha?

  • @mickehill Yes you are right, however, the reason ET is so appreciated is because he doesn't just get you to understand, he seems to be able to help people feel, to feel just how wonderful & precious this moment really is, why, because it is the only thing we have.

  • BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD

    I am - > that , + I am

I am that, AND, I am

    I am that I am

  • @omahgeehum

Absolutely right! Completely compatible with the very best of the essence of Christianity, and exactly the same message as the Buddha revealed 2,600 years ago!
