  • hey i really enjoyed the video, what did you use to create the character if you dont mind me asking, like photoshop, pencils, watercolour or just a drawing scanned in

    thanks m8 :)

  • @Jordan225x Sorry for the terribly late reply! I kinda forgot I had a youtube channel... It was originally a sketch in one of my sketchbooks, so I scanned him, quickly colored him and chopped apart his pieces in photoshop, and then printed a few copies of him out on card stock paper. I manually cut all his little pieces out with an exacto knife (arms, legs, hands, etc). Then I spent nine hours moving his pieces around, capturing it with some stop-motion software on a Sony camcorder!

  • Easily one of the best cutout animations I've seen on Youtube.

I have noticed most on here are initial projects from animation classes, but then animators seem to never return to the form.

Judging by this work, you really ought to.

Team up with a clever writer, make something great. It won't be hard to shine.

  • @IngridElkner Sorry for the really late reply! Thanks so much for the compliment! You're totally right, it's really hard to keep at it, but I'm doing exactly as you've recommended and I've got a great friend with some fantastic ideas! We're teaming up to do a series of short interactive cartoons, I'll make sure some of it makes it to youtube somehow!

    Thanks again!

  • so hilarius, congrats,

i like so much the illustration, the character.

    ..

    una chimba mi so.

  • what software was used for this?

  • @TheAnimator21 I'm sorry for the terribly late reply, but I honestly don't remember... It's all paper cut outs shot frame by frame with a Sony digital camcorder, I'm sure there are any number of softwares that can do stop-motion capture... I added sound effects and minor editing afterward with Adobe Premiere.

  • I really dig. You've manged to get quite a performance with only a few articulation points.

  • That is some excellent looking artwork! I'd love to see more.

  • Well. It's good to see he died doing what he loved... and then lived on in spirit.. doing what he loved.. that killed him.

Nice name for the bar too.

    Hardy Har Har.
