why do we try to categorize every band, as if we still went shopping for their albums in the stores in person? three genres bad good awesome. awesome.
I'm dancing to this song in my dance class and its so emotion and has lots of feeling through only beat and a violin or piano and its make me want to cry so bad.
I'll be honest, I'm not very familiar with Album Leaf, but from what I've heard Radiohead is what comes to mind. This is a little more mellow than Radiohead. And I'd say "Listenable" is all based on the individual listening; I find the majority of Radiohead's work appealing! :)
You're probably more correct about the similarity, though I'd still direct someone to Radiohead if they liked this music.
Check out 'eDIT' - 'Crying over prose for no reason' (eDIT is from The Glitch Mob - but his first album was so melodic - I'm pretty sure you'd appreciate it!)
@sk8nowplease The Album Leaf has a strong tie to the Post-Rock and Instrumental genres. They have relations with bands like Explosions In The Sky, Final Days Society, Balmorhea, Toe, Kwoon, etc... check out genres similar to The Album Leaf at postrockXchange --hope this is of assistance to you! (it has helped me on my quest)

Simply put, given a genre it makes it easier to find tons of other artists you'll like. We don't categorize artists to limit them.

Radiohead is quite similar in music style, though with some lyrics.

@mbf111
I disagree. Radiohead has like six listenable tracks out of what, about a hundred in total? Their music is completely different from Album Leaf's.

I think songs without words are in some ways better because you can interpret them how you'd like too. With that being said I love this song
