  • Why can't atheists just leave religious people alone? This is why. Religious people hate truth like vampires hate sunlight. I say bring 'em out in the light of day and watch them disintegrate. Ridicule them right out of the public sphere. Delusional childish morons.

  • The religious don't give 2 shits about the constitution. That is evident.

  • You only need morals in the first place if you do not have a conscience.

  • @CHRLPTRSN The conscience is a construct of a social upbringing.

  • @DaToNyOyO No, a conscience is there by default. Social upbringing may cause it to become blocked, however - as with empathy. This is how a natural human becomes a sociopath.

  • @CHRLPTRSN

Acceptance of moral guidelines and rules is a necessity for survival of the group and, ultimately, of the species. These rules and guidelines form the basis of your conscience. It is not "there by default". That's why different societies have differing rules of behaviour, and they are accepted without guilt. It's why society has become less bigoted and hateful of others.

Social upbringing does not cause someone to become a sociopath; a sociopath is born with "bad" brain chemistry.

  • @DaToNyOyO Every single argument you make is based on the idea that a conscience is learned through upbringing. If that is the case, I agree with you.

The thing is, I don't believe it is caused by upbringing, and annoyingly enough, experts have that same disagreement, meaning this is essentially a matter of opinion or faith. I am certainly open to the idea that I could be wrong about it - it just doesn't seem natural to me.

  • @CHRLPTRSN

So your position is that the developing brain is genetically "hard-wired" to create "a conscience", that is then programmed via social upbringing?

If that's the case, is it not simply that the conscience is just the formation of *a way of thinking* and relating to environmental stimulus? A method of determining outcomes?

And since all ways of perceiving the world depend upon *learned* methods of processing information, is the conscience not just a creation of social necessity?

  • Cecil Bothwell is now running for congress....It will be interesting to see how he does.

  • I haven't forgotten more about The Constitution than you will ever remember to never learn.

  • It's been far too long since christians went door to door looking for witches to burn. That's the problem.

    Hail xenu!

  • Christian scum fuck off!!!

  • Atheists are actively and often openly and LEGALLY discriminated against, yet Christians are constantly whining about being persecuted--often just on the basis of someone preferring to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christimas".

  • @DandAinTac Happy Winter Solstice.

  • @CHRLPTRSN ... And happy birthday Jesus!

  • The same sentence also explicitly says "both of the United States and of the several States" seemingly in contrast with "under the United States". So how does the Supreme Court interpret that? Actually, I guess it doesn't matter now with the 14th Amendment.

  • religion is dying out, 200 years and it'll be gone, i just wish i could live to see such times.

  • @DemoraX If it had died out 1000 years ago, we'd probably all live to 200.

  • @3234718 agreed, if people with a brain were'nt getting burnt alive for "witchcraft" by these simple minded dipsticks we'd be thousands of years more advanced technologically. :(

  • @DemoraX In Family Guy, Stewie goes to an alternate reality where science was never oppressed and the whole world was like the Jetsons. But alas.....

  • People who believe in fairytales should not have political power !

    Religion = Immorality.

  • America is retarded. Move along!

  • Pfft, just do what I do when ever someones asks if I beleive in god, lie to their face. If you don't they'll judge you as some heathen and shun you. Better to be accepted at a lie then denied by telling the truth that their god is a figment of their imaginations. (The same thing you do with dangerous crazy people.) Less conflict.

  • @Gatzlocke Hay man im all for just ignoring the crazy zealots and shit. But i will NOT lie about my atheism. Its my choice and if someone asks me i will, without fear of reprisole, tell them exactly what i think about their 'God'. I will never hide that fact and i wear it proudly. Everyone that knows me im proud of my atheism and that if they ever want to debate religion with me, im more then willing to kick their ass up and down the debate until they give up. I AM AN ATHEIST AND I AM DAM PROUD!

  • @Gatzlocke Haha, when people ask me if I believe in God I always say, "Believe? No. I KNOW God." They don't quite know what to make of that.

  • @CHRLPTRSN They KNOW you're a prick.

  • Isn't something like that in a state constitution illegal by the United States Constitution?

  • I dont believe atheists should be allowed to even run for office. I find atheists to be annoying and quite stupid. They should be banned from running for any office in The United States for in God we do trust!

  • @ah93704 But your position is unconstitutional. Does that change your opinion or no?

  • @7777777joseh well, it is unconstitutional. You are right. Its just annoying have such a small minority dictate things to everyone. I think they should just leave people alone that are theisticly minded!

  • @ah93704 Dictate things to everyone? No, they see a potential court case, and they bring it through the courts. The supreme court then decides on constitutionality. This way, the super majority doesn't trample the rights of the minority. It's a gateway of democracy.

Keep this in mind: The establishment clause was meant to prevent any 1 sect of christianity to infringe the rights of every smaller sect. But the founders knew that religions can change, so they didn't use the word "christianity."

  • @ah93704 so you are against the US constitution? interesting.

  • @ah93704 You base your spirituality off a text printed on money? Really?

  • Wait, This is in Asheville, NC and people are angry he's atheist?

  • this article is UNBELIEVABLE, i can't believe that still in XXI Century we see this "Religion and state union" thing.

  • ALSO, why the fuck would atheists CARE SO MUCH if God didn't really exist!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????? What??? You wanna be able to just live in a world that is atheist friendly??? HOW is that going to happen if GOD IS REAL. Atheists wanting God out of everything is asking TOO MUCH. You are the MINORITY because YOU. ARE. IGNORANT. AND. WRONG. NOT because humanity never thought before and you just happen to think that YOU'RE the enlightended ones. PLEASE. Click my name and begin to journey towards seeing.

  • And False again. There IS NO RELIGIOUS TEST. YOU having to belive in God is not a "test" it's a measure of SANITY. Insanity will not be tolerated, now will pure indifference for ignorance is NOT AN ARGUMENT. Simply adding a "?" to words does not make it an argument.

  • @SuperSam424 how do you feel about a god thats different than yours? lol do you base your decisions upon what appeals to you? heh how would you know if someone that said they believed in god actually didnt and was just using this as a key to unlock your defenses so they can employ you like a tool? faith, what does that word mean? it seems faith equates to unwarranted trust/acceptance. strange how unwarranted trust can sound so unappealing but yet faith is often asked for.

  • @nyctru 1. FALSE. Nothing I believe is in correltion to what appeals to me. My decisions come from truthvalues. (call me crazy--but yeah, I strive for happiness aka pure perfection aka God--like everyone else, so your 'argument' is invalid). 2. You can tell the difference between a real believer and a fake. Only YOU won't be able to--not US. For example, Hitler was OBVIOUSLY not a Christian. Same goes for Obama. 3. FALSE. Faith requires belief in unseen things FOR GOOD REASONS. Not for

  • @nyctru "unwarrented trust". If there is unwarrented trust that is necessary we WOULD NOT BELEIVE IN GOD. STOP ASSUMING THINGS. What other stupid assumptions have you been fed?

  • False. If you do not believe in God you are not an intelligent person and are showing yourself not adequate to be in a public office.

  • Asheville, lolz

  • We need more journalists like Rachel Maddow and Anderson Cooper in the U.S.

  • This is sad and a reason why I dispise America

  • @JeffWatersRules Our government or America in general?

  • @CorporalHicks8 mainly the government

  • These states constitutions are so medieval.

  • For someone who thinks atheists are arrogant people no different from Osama Bin Laden and Jerry Falwell, this is ridiculous.

What you believe about the supernatural world has little bearing on your abilities to do good or evil. Of course if this guy screws up then maybe there is a God and He says no atheists but I know God enough to see the bigger picture. Meritocracy not religionism should be the way of appointing public servants,

  • Texas... why am I not surprised?

  • @eedobee Not really. In fact, our moral grounds are a lot stronger than christians. Mainly because of the "bible". Christians believe that their morality comes from a higher power. So if they believe that something immoral could be seen as moral by this higher power e.g. Murder. Then they would have no real problems doing it. There are plenty of examples of people killing others in the act of their God. Where do my morals come from? From living in a civilized society. Simple and easy.

  • @FFXFREAK572 We're better and smarter than them.

    Heard that before, dude,

  • @FFXFREAK572 Hear Hear sir (or ma'am)

  • @eedobee demonstrably false statement right there :)

  • @eedobee That is the farthest thing from truth. How can you judge a person's morality based on their faith or lack their of? Who are you to assume that an atheist doesn't follow their own rules? Before you go putting every atheist into that category, dig a little deeper. Not all of us our pretentious pricks. If there were no judgment from God, how many Christians do you think would steal, murder, or commit adultery? Probably similar to the number of atheists who would.

  • @eedobee Religious folks all lack the concept of reality.

  • @eedobee christians are evil child murdering raping genocidal maniacs. proven facts.

  • @eedobee - Are you SERIOUS? LOL. Morality and religion are far from synonymous. I find more moral people among athiests than I do among Chrtistians. Over 90% of those in prison believe in God.

  • @mishabear many of that 90% in prison do not actually believe in god but see it as a tool to make it appear that they are reformed and fit to get out.i do agree that just because someones an atheist ( like me) that it doesnt mean that they lack morals.

  • @mishabear Those in prison usually find god after they go to prison. They don't beleive in god prior to going and once they go they have nothing left but to believe in god. If you notice more poor people and people in third countries where they suffer more believe in god. The reason for this is that when you have nothing left you turn to god.

  • @mishabear I wasn't serious, I was trolling.

It's funny how many people responded with "No RELIGIOS PPL R EVIL".

I'm an atheist, but most atheists are fucking dumb.

You're probably too fucking stupid to be a real atheist.

  • as much as i agree with most of the sentiment here(if they demand that i include the word "god" in some oath i'll just use "me" instead), Maddow is a hypocrite hack that i'm unable to listen to without puking so i'll see if i can find someplace to read about this elsewhere

  • @mishabear "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. ... And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion." - George Washington, Farewell Address 1796

  • @nnjhansen And yet atheist countries are by far safer and more comfortable to live in than theist countries.

  • @mishabear I find atheists to be immoral. they may be smart but they lack good overall morality.

  • @ah93704 No, you're right. Because atheists don't condone rape like the bible does. Or pillaging. Or genocide. Seriously, those atheists are such bad people.

  • Maryland, you're better than that. Hell, even Alabama isn't on that sad list of states.

  • @Adam27X I was actually more shocked @ Texas than Maryland...Maryland is kinda where religion started in dis country..

  • it doesn't matter if it's in the state constitution. if it's in direct violation of the united states constitution, it is then null.

plus, who's the fucking idiot that put that in there?

  • There ya go again. "Everybody" is not hating. Ya, some are hateful, but with damn good reason. Listen to this video again and tell me who is being hateful or at least highly discriminated against. And you tube is all about commenting and debate. Some comments are ignorant but get used to it.

  • People need to stop uploading videos like this because all it does is bring flocks of hateful idiots. Whether ur religous or an atheist just MIND UR OWN DAMN BUSINESS.

  • @ItsAboutWhatUDo Mind ur own damn business? Hmm. You must be another hateful idiot incapable of minding ur own own damn business. hypocrite

  • @notnilccm How am i being a hypocrite? Almost every single comment in here is hating on Atheism or hating on religion. I think some1 needs to say that these arguments r pointless and thats what i was trying to get at. I dont understand how im being a hypocrite at all its not like im taking sides or anything.

  • @ItsAboutWhatUDo You are being a hypocrite because YOU are not minding your own damn business. Most of these comments are not hateful. And it doesnt matter which side youre on. This debate NEEDS to happen. It is far far from pointless. In fact it is imperative. If you cant see it, you are beyond help.

  • @notnilccm Lol dude ok if u want to have an endless arguement then upload a video talking about peoples beliefs.

  • @notnilccm I dont understand how u can say this debate needs to happen but then say i am beyond help. shouldnt some1's beliefs be private & respected? Most of these comments definitly r hateful i dunno if we r on the same video or what.

  • @ItsAboutWhatUDo If you want your beliefs to be private, then why are you here on you tube? You said everyone should "JUST MIND THEIR OWN DAMN BUSINESS". Ya know what? With me, that aint gonna happen as long as we have religious hypocrites imposing their way of life and their lies on people like myself that are just interested in living an honest life, seeking the truth and whats best for my family.

  • @notnilccm Whatever dude i dont get why u even sent me a comment in the first place. Ya im not minding my own business but im not hating on Atheism or religion like everybody in here.

  • @ItsAboutWhatUDo I'm a Christian and I agree with this. These so called "arguments" are stupid and retarded. There's really no point stirring up each other's anger over trivial matters since people on the internet act like overly sensitive 5th graders without etiquette on both sides.

  • @blueshogun96 Yeah people shouldnt be debating about beliefs online u know? It just never ends and is a pointless discussion. People r gunna believe what they wanna or what they r lead to by God.

  • @ItsAboutWhatUDo

If people lived by the constitution we woudn't have this problem now would we? It's hard to mind your own business when religious radicals wish to undermine our very way of life.

  • @NUTCASE71733 Religous people arent even undermining anything, im confused about what u mean by that. Religous radicals r very rare dude most religous people mind their own business. I dont understand why u try to generalize all the religous people on earth into ur own delusion it is ridiculous grow up.

  • @ItsAboutWhatUDo the religious undermines the future of human existence. the religious undermines the environment that sustains the current life forms of this planet. afterlife, immortal soul, heaven, god all unproven, but death and the children inheriting what we leave them are constant as the trend that the next generation inherits less than the prior did. religion is reserved pretense for enforcing agenda. these holy wars, you guys get separate heavens? or are you gonna fight there as well?

  • @nyctru I dont understand why Atheists argue against religion. There r over 4 billion people that believe in God and under 1 billion that do not. So just deal with it religion is gunna be around forever. There is no such thing as a religous war that is just a myth Atheists come up with. Just because governments r corrupt doesnt mean religions r, i dont understand that logic.

  • @ItsAboutWhatUDo actually atheists typically arent out to kill religion but rather stop laws being made based on it.originally this country was based on freedom of religion (among other things) and the freedom not to worship god if you dont believe in him.many of those 4+ billion you speak of disagree on what religion is right....go preach to a muslim in the middle east about jesus and see what happens..lol

  • @Pat9201 Those r pretty good points, thanks. This dude was just talking hella crap & i had to come back at him with something ya know. Some people act like religion is the only reason we have war or something like that & it is moronic if u ask me.

  • @ItsAboutWhatUDo actually most wars in recent times are more because of energy resources than anything but religion does have a history of causing wars....just a long time ago on the most part.

  • @Pat9201 Israel/Palestine was not along time ago. "All your land are belong to us - look see it says so in our book!"

  • @Pat9201 Then theres Yugoslavia, and several wars in Africa with Christians vs muslims.. and some are saying that Shia vs. Sunni are about to kick it off in the gulf.

Religiously motivated wars are atleast as commonplace now, if not moreso than they have been historically

  • @neverfearchrisishere i have to agree with you.i ment what i said but as far as "a long time ago" is,that may have been inaccurate.what i should have said is there are plenty of reasons for war and religion is just one of them.

  • It's against the constitution to remove someone from office because of their religion, I don't know how these states get away with this.

  • It's always better to have honest atheist than hypocritical lying pathetic scum-bag. Just think about how many of those counsellors really believe in god and just lie ?

  • @PainterofYou

that was not racism because people accused were no different then the accusers, and it was not about Catholicism, because its not intrinsic to Catholicism, it was because of fear.

"It's weak people who go along with them"

beware of idea that its only the weak people who cause the trouble , especially if you consider yourself strong, because the people that cause the trouble are the ones who think that are immune to it.

Modern day witch hunting was hunting for communists.

  • Wtf? That is according to the US constitution (i have read it, but am not an American) in direct violation of said constitution. To kick someone out for someones logical belief. Its a direct violation of the freedom of thought. Your Founding Fathers have hammered on this.

  • @PainterofYou

    its a form of racism

  • Power games. People will use whatever means are available to get what they want. Religion is a convenient tool because it's everywhere. If people didn't believe in god they woulds still have other beliefs that could be manipulated. Minority beliefs will be used against the people who hold them because numbers stand on the other side. It's easier to blame the tool.

  • That's... quite strange.

  • @PainterofYou

dude you say it like a joke but its not, what if a person is a muslim, will they take him on?

  • separation from church and state? North Carolina is anti american

  • @lifemetall - There's a Church of Satan. You want that connected to State? You're gonna have to accept that fact that we Americans are NOT all Christians.. in fact, there are more Pagans, Atheists, Deists, Polytheists, etc than you think! Some of us hide under the guise of "Christian" to shut you up, but don't deceive yourself... humanity is diverse. Any god who is against that is NOT our creator. Hehe

  • @YourDarkAccomplice i'm an atheist, and i was stating an argument for anti-christian bullshit

  • Theists dont like athiests for the same reason that the child who believes in santa cant understand why the skeptical child doubts. Just with bigger words.

  • @number1sun - I'm not even an Atheist and this pisses me off. It just shows how horribly we've evolved due to the disease that plagues our mind, like dogma. People just can't see the tyranny, bigotry, hate, etc cause they're too busy feeling 'victorious' or 'righteous' what a disease!

  • @gOATLYbillybob....look dude..(ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE)...JESUS was ALSO god, (trinity)so god manifested HIMSELF as his own SON...(asexual...which means he must have masturbated into his own "ASSGINA") Soooooo...he in actuality sent HIMSELF to "die on a cross" for the shit that HE created (satan, earth ...(and all the troubles in it). so he has to PAY HIMSELF for the sin that he created by sacrificing himself TO HIMSELF>>>>HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT????? C y ppl thing religion is wack????

  • I have been baptised and did all that stuff, just grew out of it. ""Presuppositionalist Christian apologetics teaches us""" here's the problem, Teach yourself and stop listening to people who have no more information about a god than i do. They are lying if they claim they do. Educate yourself for your own sake. Freedom from religion starts from within, seek it out. Follow the truth.

  • This is why I say fuck religion

  • Wow, NC state constitution violates the US constitution. Interesting.

  • mwuahaha our prime minister is atheist.

  • this as why we need GOD back on this earth, cuz Looks like the freaking devil is taking over.....Bastard

  • How can you trust an atheist to lead, when atheists worship themselves and make up their morality as they go along? To utter such a deplorable lie as "there is no God" is clearly just a sorry attempt at justifying anal sex.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins i Atheist and i do not worship myself, you do not have to worship anything.

  • @gato123452 So, you do not deny the allegations of sodomy?

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins Yea, because sodomy is bad, right? Lol, you're such a troll.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins Athiests do not worship themselves - they just don't waste time worshiping and, as a result, spend more time doing.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins

    obvious troll is obvious.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins I normally don't resort to name calling...but you're an idiot.

  • @DaveStretchingTime Thank you for persecuting me, Dave. The Bible says I am blessed by your persecution:

Matthew 5:10-11 10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins God of the Bible not only does not, but cannot exist. If I said that I know a guy who is a married bachelor, then you would know it's a contradiction which makes it impossible. Well the bible is full of these contradictions. The god of the bible does not exist

  • @Darkeons Ah, but you cannot exist without the God of the Bible, because He created you!

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins stating that the God of the Bible created me, doesn't make it a correct statement. Why do you believe that the God of the bible created me?

  • @Darkeons Because naturalistic explanations are hard to imagine.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins You just told me why you don't believe in naturalistic explanations. So your rejection of a naturalistic explanation automatically makes your supernatural claim valid? So if I was to prove evolution, I would have to do it by disproving god? Are you serious?? haha

  • @Darkeons The burden of proof is on those who are in rebellion against the ultimate moral authority. Jesus gave everything, temporarily, and this is how you repay Him? By ejaculating in His face??

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins okay like i suspected lol. trolling ;)... nice job.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins Why waste a good load on a fag that's been dead 2000 years?

  • @nashkita77 Jesus died for you temporarily! He gave everything for three days, just so you could stay out of the sadistic Hell He set aside for the Devil, his angels, and anyone who has a concern for evidence. And you mock Him. Enjoy Hell. I hope being smart and intelligent is worth an eternity in Hell.

    Subscribe or burn.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins typical threat response. when u present evidence, then maybe someone will listen to your argument. A bunch of goat fuckers in the desert (1600 years ago) writing sexist, racist, homophobic bigotry bullshit is not gonna cut it dude.

  • @nashkita77 Presuppositionalist Christian apologetics teaches us that faith is a substitute for evidence. Many Christians believe this, but they are not saved because they do not repent. Only True Christians like me are saved, who have been baptized as adults, after they have reached an age at which they can understand the temporary sacrifice of Jesus. Have you been baptized? Have you repented of all sin? Jesus tells us to repent, be baptized, and believe in Him, and we can avoid Hell.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins Only True Christians like me are saved

The Lutheran church claims only they are true christians, the catholics the block over think the same thing. The congregation of the Westboro Baptist Church think they are true christians. The quakers think they are true christians. All politicians say they are true christians. In the USA there are over 20,000 christian denominations.

Can you prove they are not true christians?

    Seeing the fallacy yet?

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins Subscribe or burn.

Is that part of the "free thinking thing" your christians talk about?

Subscribe or burn sounds like a threat. Very loving of your god by the way.

  • @nashkita77 Jesus was NOT a fag!! Judas kissed him first!

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins Either way i'm pretty sure you're just trolling ;)

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins A bunch of goat fuckers in the desert (1600 years ago) writing sexist, racist, homophobic bigotry bullshit is not gonna cut it dude.

  • @nashkita77 Repeating yourself is not going to disprove my unfalsifiable claims.

  • @GodlyBillyBobJenkins Who do u know what an atheist thinks, if you are not one???

  • @nashkita77 It is obvious that someone with no moral compass would think like a psychopathic nymphomaniac. What else would an atheist think like?

  • @nashkita77 Why are you assuming atheist have no moral compass.. Says who? What else would an atheist think like? We think like everybody else, except in a god or gods.

  • "But I say to you not to swear at all, neither by Heaven, for it is the throne of God; nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great king; neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your speech be yea, yea; no, no; and that which is over and above these, is of evil."

    ...which atheist said that, again?

  • @IoEstasCedonta Matthew 5:36 is not an atheist quote.
