  • Fredde you are hardcore in the best of ways!! I so want to build a winter shelter. I want to den up like a bear only warmer. Cheers!

  • absolutely brilliant set up, you have obviously put a lot of ettort and thought into it. Well done!

  • definitely a sweet setup..Ed

  • What an awesome setup Fredde!!!!!!! Incredible video series.. thanks so much Bro!

  • @BushcraftOnFire

thanks dave, now i only hope it gonna be colder, so i can try it out,

    fredde

  • how do you keep the smoke out of the shelter, did you leave the tops of the shelter uncovered by the moss? Even with an open door it seems like it would be too smoky. I like this shelter tho. It seems wider than your other one with the fireplace on one end. Not all areas have such nice rocks unfortunately. So glad to see alternative heat for those of living with no decent rocks. We have boulders the size of cars, but none you can lift ha ha.

  • Great shelter fredde! God Fortsättning!

  • very very good shelter :)

    take care

  • Great, I love it!

  • I really enjoy your videos Freddee, you are really talented making stuff. I love the pipe you made. P.s. Why did somebody wreck your first shelter, love the chimney you had. Keep up good work, Happy Holidays.

  • Happy New Year and you are still my number one resource for axe work. When I want to see an axe used the right way, I come watch your videos!

  • Good to see an open fire in a shelter. Wishing you a prosperous New Year, and some cold dry snow to replace that awful rain!

  • Did it get smoky inside the shelter? Great shelter. Thanks for showing.

  • Never cease to amaze me fredde! Great job!

  • It's a bush-lavvu! Cool!

  • Looks nice and big. Good job brother.

  • Very cool Fredde. God bless.

I hope that you have a great 2012!! John

  • Nice wicki I had built one a while back lasted 2 years

  • Hej Fredde,

what kind of tinder did you find out there to blow the ember into flame? Couldn't be dry gras of course ;-)

    Andreas

  • Nice shelter, Fredde. Best wishes for the new year

  • looks like you get alot of rain, cold too !!

    great shelter,really good.

Fire in side, yep thats the way to be.no worries.

    kind regards

    SA

  • Thanks for showing the finished sheltet... looks like it's getting cold now,we are going to get about 3 inches of rain in the next few days, have a great day.

  • Very cool! Your winters seem to be very cold and dry. Our winters are very wet and rainy so everything gets cold and wet. Even when it snows it doesnt last long and it turns to slush so it is hard to stay dry. Really like your shelter!

  • @gotrocksinhead

i can tell you, it is very very wet here, really short days, and lots of rain, and around -0C all the time, its a bad winter, no snow or real cold, just wet,

    fredde

  • Nice shelter bro

  • Wow!

  • Your shelter looked nice and toasty Fredde. Maybe some flowers will grow on it in the spring.

Loved your hand drill, I imagine that your hands are pretty warm before the fire is going.

Thanks a bunch and Happy New Year! : )

  • So cool Fredde, ...your shelter get One with nature! ...very good, this time the hunters will not destroy it, because they don´t see it ; )) ...hopefully! ...great handdrill, good with the iso mat! Thanks for your video and the great response to bushcraftus. All the best, my friend. Sepp

  • Best wishes for the new year my friend.

  • Fantastic shelter, Fredde! Good luck with the competition :)

  • Great job on that shelter. Happy New Year!!!

  • nice shelter Fredde has come a;ong very well. would be great if i could build one where i live but sadly too many peopl would trash it here

  • Great and solid looking! Looks like an ewok shelter!

Have you used that Mora much? I don't have a wood handled one yet but am probably gonna turn one of my expensive knives that never gets used into about a dozen different Moras. The wood is on my list.

  • Really enjoy watching your skills and time spent with you shelter.

  • Now thats a shelter! another awesome video.

  • Looks good. Simple and strong. First I've seen done this way and it makes sense. My favorite is still your hut for two with fireplace, yet that took more time and the right stones. Who knows, perhaps I'll end up there someday and need that. Currently the NW corner of Montana has been experiencing a 2-3 month long heat wave, so it there is also most no snow in the mountains and we are still barbequing in our T-shirts. No need for winter shelters anymore. :O)

  • No messing great series. Enjoyed it very much. Thanks.

  • @packthesack

    thanks

  • less gear to bring :) holala nothing beats this king of thelter in the winter :) thank you good luck this year

  • I guess you have a whole at the apex of the shelter, it's too dark and grainy to tell. If yes, does rain effect it?...Dash Riprock

  • @mrriprock2

i do not rain much here winter time

  • inspirational.

  • @hobbexp

i carry my kit with me, same as stone age ppl did

  • Great shelter, very well built. Thanks for taking us on your trip. Stay warm or try.

  • I was going to ask if you made that hand drill kit on the trip or did you hike it in with you. Then you answered my questions. Friction fire Tuesday in the wild!

  • Thanks Fredd! very cool!

  • Thats a great shelter, very well built. I loved this video.
