  • Funny how this movie, unlike the book is not banned in Australia

  • he dies in this one too

  • mmm kind of disappointing to be honest.

  • Comment removed

  • Boyz and girlz...Ken Russel made a mockery of D.H. Lawrence book..:))

  • @transfoby In what significant ways is Ken Russell's movie different from DH Lawrence's book? Often they have to compress some material or leave it out, just to keep a movie within a reasonable length.

  • HMM. My contribution to this highbrow debate is thus. PHORRR. Sean Bean is hot...

  • Why can no-one spell or use proper English and why is it necessary to use foul language?

  • I quite agree. I fear that the educational system is failing pathetically.

  • It's true that I sometimes disparage at the language of some of the users on youtube, but honestly, if the message comes across then why should you really care? I'm sure the English language is still evolving. One day it may even be considered correct to write "u" instead of bothering to write "you." If you were to think of writers from 150 years ago and imagine their style and grammar it's quite different from what we use today and I'm sure they would disparage at our language.

  • As for foul language, some of the smartest people I know are those who swear the most. It's not a sign of stupidity or ignorance, it's more of an emotive response. Sometimes another word simply will not do.

  • Your response has betrayed the problem - "instead of bothering". Style and grammar have changed since, for example, the times of Shakespeare, Dickens or even Wilde (d.1900) but what is more apparent in the debris of today's txtspkrs (or similar) is their lack of effort and care and worse, the total lack of understanding of even the most basic rules of English. Why? Because they can't be "bothered". Having the message coming across is not good enough per se. It should be done correctly.

  • The only issue I take with complaints like these is that they usually come from pedants who take issue with signs in the supermarket with "Five items or less" written on them.

  • Point of order, AnneFiona: Would the pedant take issue with the signs themselves or those who disobey them? Must one be a pedant to defend misuse of one's own language? Furthermore, may I respectfully ask what any of this has to do with Lady Chatterley? The only issue I take with comments like yours is that they usually come from homely, plump women who aren't invited out often. There, see how you like it. Now, are we debating the misuse of English or scoring petty points? Grow up, please.

  • Wasn't insulting you personally, just saying that we needn't make such an issue with the rules and regulations of grammar at levels such as these (youtube comments and groceries). Were these people writing essays or novels that would be a different matter entirely.

Fortunately, I didn't take offense at your comment, as I am sure I'm not a homely, plump woman who isn't invited out often, and I didn't mean for you to take offense at my pedant statement.

  • Thank you for that. Let us agree to differ, as we do over how to spell the word "offence" (this is a transatlantic issue, I think).

  • On a more lighthearted note, if "u" was to be deemed acceptable as the personal pronoun, how would one describe a female sheep?

  • @AnneFiona Fuckin' A !!!!!!!!! People arguing about what is "foul" or "appropriate" language on a posting of a film based on a D.H. Lawrence novel... How ridiculous is that?!? He's rolling (with laughter) in his grave, no doubt.

  • @nauort23 I think people should read more...this series is so ridiculous, yes, old DHL would cry if he saw this...but then, this is a work of Ken Russel who is quite a queen

  • @transfoby Never saw this one, but I'll take your opinion and skip it--not that I have anything against queens.

  • FYI, this version of "Lady Chatterley" is not a film, but a TV mini-series.

  • I don't like her..In the novel Lady Chatterley is not blonde...

  • the other version is good cz it´s realistic, no person is perfect, and that film made that fact beautiful

  • watch the whole movie and then give ur opinion flickrfly

  • Sean is the perfect man! its a pity that the videos's guality isnt the best...

  • This is the woman from the show Nip / Tuck

  • does THIS version of Lady Chatterley "shows more" than the Sylvia Crystel movie? I mean... a bit more "explicit"??

  • I doubt any movie is more explicit than the Syvia Crystel movie. !! LOL
