loved when he licked his eyeball... had never seen something like that before, it's cute. i love geckos, but where i live, in brazil, they're different. some of them (the smaller types) live in the attic of our houses and go out at night hunting moskitos and cockroaches and are very afraid of humans. and the bigger types, live in stones, plants and stuff. i'd like to have one, but they're very difficult to catch.
@Vickmee probably about the same to purchase, but cheaper to house. They need cooler temps, so at most you need an under the tank heat pad during cooler months and they don't really require any lighting because they are nocturnal. They are also smaller and require less space.

I bought a 3 month old crestie a few days ago at an expo. i think it will end up looking exactly like this one. however i am worried because it hasn't eaten any of the repashy CGD i place in its tank. i realize it isn't uncommon for them to not eat the first week they are in a new enclosure but it worries me a lot.
@flyleafrules93 cool! im going to an expo soon to! i want to get a pac man frog, desert iguana, and rankin dragon! well not all at the same time! right now i have two reptiles a leopard gecko and crested gecko and i also have more animals! 2 horses 3 dogs!
i hve 1 dog 3 cats 4 fish tanks and i am getting my first reptile at the expo (feb.28) and i getting a leo, and if i can find a cheap crestie i gunna pick him up and put him in a storage bin till i get the inviorment :p
@Hedgehogs24 i would get a crested gecko:D i also have more reptiles now i have a leopard gecko crested gecko bearded dragon and i just got a juvenile iguana
yes you can handle these guys they are very fun and active litle guys!!!!! and no these guys are easeir to take care of than leopard geckos:) but please do reaserch before getting one!!!!!!!
@alyssagirl123456 thanks for the info, you were really helpful! I was just wondering because i might get one of those wonderous creatures for my birthday (a few weeks). I noe know that a crestie would be a good choice, and yes, i will do a fair amount of research before adopting one. i just kow a lot about leopard geckos, but now i'll learn about crestie's! thanks again!
lol look it up ya silly monkey, most geckos if threatend and feel theres no way out will drop there tail, so a preditor has a tasty morsal then they can run away to safety, and most will grow them back but it want look as good as the orignal, but the crested gecko will not grow it back , somtimes a tiny nub grows but thats it
you can feed a crested gecko entirely a powder called crested gecko diet that you just add water to. you can feed crickets/roaches with crested gecko diet. I personally don't feed insects but its really your opnion

you dont have to get em off a breeder. Its a little reassuring to know where they came from, but you can probably find them at a local petstore. And he probably wouldnt get too stressed from the ride back, just bring a small cage with a couple plants and squirt bottle, maybe bring a 10 gallon with u that is set up some, and put him in for the ride home. well good luck!
