More people, parents, communities, really need to start to focus on what is going on in the school systems, especially the ones in the poor, minority areas! The main reason that there is so much crime in this country, compared to the rest of the industrialized world, simply, almost everyone feels as though, these kids are someone else's responsibily. Do the research, and see how much we spend on law enforcement across this nation. Ask a dedicated teacher from a high crime area, what is lacking.

@michellemcg13 Yes, this speach may sound corny coming from an adult, or a bit reheased coming from this kid, but the reality is that way to many people are silent, when it comes to class room apathy. In way too many minority neighborhood schools, parents, teachers, school districts, have simply given up on the children. Do you know that there are projections done on 2nd and 3rd grade students, across this country based on reading scores, to build prison cells? Kids are crying out. Do we hear?

No matter how much you believe something it won't happen as long as the government keeps being asses underfunding education because THEIR kids DONT HAVE TO GO TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL those rich assholes homeschool them tutor them or send them to PRIVATE SCHOOLS

It may have been a corny speech if it were coming from an adult speaker, but this kid was simply very rehearsed which does make it come off as a bit canned. Dalton gave this speech his all, which is more inspiring than his words anyway. You sound bitter, as if you never had a teacher who showed they believed in you.
