  • melvin sparks ft. jimmy scott

  • bring me back to the 90's :(

  • Classic

  • A FUCKING MASTERPIECE, EVERY DAY, EVERY TIME I PLAY THIS SHIT

  • give it to em whoooo

  • Locked up they wont let me out,, listen L.I. Groove feel fine,

  • need a joint... now!

  • i wonder what these dudes are doing these days.

  • Always loved this joint!!

  • this shit's dope.

  • I can't help but groove to the break on this song, takes me back to 13 years old, I miss the golden era

  • Finally found the original sample which was also sample by the Family Of The Year who Advil used for their commercial.......

    Melvin Sparks feat. Jimmy Scott

    If You Want My Love

  • When Hip Hop was actually FEEL GOOD music. I love bein a 40 year old white guy rockin this. My teenage daughters kind of get it but they're stuck with their "hip hop", which is full on wackness...

  • 1:16 Ohhh! So unexpected but so in the pocket. Love any hiphop which mashes up great beats with old funk+jazz samples and poetic vocal talent.

  • Classic Track kids

  • From 0 till 2011 only the era of 1984 -1998 is called Music RIP [If you dont like new Shit dumbs up ^]

  • @Headderking

There's a WHOLE lot more to music then the 90s and 80s, man. Broaden your horizons!

  • @TheCanadianPrairies LOL IMO <-- I know there is a lot of other music but this is my fav Musik wich is @ the era of 1984 - 1998 Dumb Crackhead

  • @Headderking

I figured you were going to insult me, lol. You said: "only the era of 1984 -1998 is called Music" and shat on everything else? That makes YOU dumb, doesn't it?

  • When I first heard the advil commercial this joint came to mind instantly. 99% of hip hop uses samples especially back in the 90s. I'm pretty sure it was a sample, I've been searching for the original with no luck.

  • "The View" Lakeview.... 8th block... Whaddup Lo, Warren, Dink, Terry... Tanglewood, Suken City, the Heights... Whaddup...Whaddup!!!!

  • @rmaynard626 Parkside Connect...

  • I could never remember the name of this group. All I remembered was the hook. This was the shit back then.

  • damn I remember this shit

  • I love advil

  • Now this song is a hippie advil commericial

  • @jessd423 Lolz

  • @DarkAngel8698 yeah if I were Hard 2 Obtain, I'd be suing Advil as that is a direct ripoff of this song from 1994. L.I. Groove was hipper than the commercial and it was 16 years before even.

  • @jessd423 Wat u sayin? Gansters don't use advil?

  • @sohcsarewicked

no that's not what I'm sayin at all.. I'm just saying what this song is NOW.

  • it sounds like they are saying, i don't care, in the beginning instead of, wide open.

  • Remember people saying this was wack because the dude sounded like Puba!?! Clowns. This sounded amazing back in the day and still sounds fresh now. A GD A GD!

  • This song was (and is) causing me goosebumps... glad I bought the CD back in the days! :) Yippy-ay-yo from Germany... :)

  • 94 Is the top of the Mountain

  • There's an Advil commercial in 2010 that uses a song called "Chugjug" by a group called Family of the Year that uses almost this exact same melody and hook (even similar sounding lyrics in the hook).

  • @morpheusxnyc music is bound to sound the same. theres only so much you can do. its been around forever. jesus.

  • What's up Dj Six Seven, DL and Taste this is Mishawl from Silver Spring MD it's been a long time. Hit me up on FaceBook Mishawl Dmiato. I'm feeling this song!!!

  • I love visting my cousins in long island during the summer from Bklyn. The

green grass, the nice beaches the nices

    houses.

It was the first time i witnessed

my older cool ass cousin and his honchos makin a beat on a MPC

in the basement while my uncle

was out in the yard cutting the grass.

being a little kid from Brooklyn witnessing this and being new to America Long Island left an impression on me.The girls out there were fly and friendly too back then yo.

  • Yo back then niggz was rollin 20 deep, nothin but philly blunts and

ciphers yall new catz done missed

the golden era.I wanna cry when i

    see such gems.

  • yoo ne 1 know wat town these niggaz is from?

  • Lakeview.

  • Ism & Blues was the best produced 94' album. I stand by those words. What made H20 so unique was that they had a simple east coast style of flowing that kinda makes them sound little west coast.

  • damn, this is NY finest shit! straight hiphop! love this joint!

  • Love this one. Sitting in leather chair rhyming while drinking a 40. Hip hop.

  • @robrien4 Shit I'm doin that right now.lol It's kinda sad how 40's identify so much to old hip-hop in general, but I grew up in that era. I cant think of nothin fresher then sittin in a leather chair drinkin a forty!

  • @StreetNative .... Hey dude. You know. I don't really think it's sad. It's just part of the good time vibe of this video. I grew up at that time too and drinking 40's (underage :) in the schoolyard was part of the fun of this. Used to play the tape in my buddy's jeep. It's all good man. I need to track down this CD. I've been listening to other cuts of the album this morning and all of it is pretty good. Peace.
