yeah, meteo was kinda lame. I like the meteor animation in the psp ffiv collection, although I'm sure you all have this game 3 times already, like I do. sigh.

This is the saddest scene in the whole game, I think. I like how they handled this cut scene in the DS.

@RoddickFarrence589 It was explained that Meteor would put too much of a strain on Tellah's old body for him to survive it (during gameplay, Tellah's MP would not increase from 90, when the cost for Meteor is 99 MP.). Rydia just has grown to be an awesome Spellcaster.

@wav003 You can't really take that factor too literally. The 90 MP limit is just a way for him not to be able to cast it, when talking game mechanics. However, plot-wise, Meteor would probably drain the stamina an elderly person doesn't have. That's just my take on the whole matter.

@wav003 There's a few things that, if you look at it, work in favor of this event.

Tellah already cast three spells, which in total would drain his 90mp. On top of not having enough to begin with, he had no magic left to cast Meteor, so all that's left to drain is his life force.

Is it me or the characters look a litttle goofy? Kain looks stupid when he drops and all of the others are just standing there. If it's a 2D then I know but this is 3D. It needs action.

Really I liked the story of this game a lot but my one gripe about it is that the characters act like such idiots when it comes to letting Golbez get the crystals. They shouldn't have made it that Golbez got the dark Crystal because they turned their back on him! They should have saved the crystal there and Golbez should have assaulted the castle again while they were in the Tower of Babil.

Talleh's meteor shower is a valueble asset, but the ole coot is a real asshole sometimes. He, cecil and Porom are "slappers" with friends like that who needs enemies! this is a good, if somewhat morally distorted story. I am still compelled to play the actual game. I can't figure the anime logic out, you can slap your friends for morning or crying or being fools but to dispell your "dark" knighthood you can't hit back even if your enemy is attacking. That is weird, not just.

Early in the game, Tellah's amazing as both a character and as a party member. Later in the game... he sucks as a party member. He only has 90 frickin MP. I swear I used up SO many Ethers in the Tower of Zot.

kinda makes no sense how blizzaga, firaga, thundaga all do like 2.5k damage and meteor does only 9999(yet it kills him). Why not just keep casting the weaker spells? In the original on snes, these 3 spells did like ~300 damage while meteo did 9999 which was much more realistic and would make sense to take tellahs life. Here hes basically saying : whatever, ill do any extra 5k damage and kill myself in the process.

The reason for this lies and the man's strength to cast Meteo. Tellah used a spelled which he didn't truly have the strength (or even MP) to cast. As noted in the dialogue, he was doing out of blind rage toward Golbez.

Tellah was a phenomenon, a Redmage (because can use White and Black magics) with extremely powerful magic, even at the beginning of the game! I don't think it was a waste, on the contrary... Was a waste to his death, yes!
