do you know if there's any chance of sonic gens coming to the pc? i happen to own neither ps3 nor 360, but i heard rumors about a supposed pc port. i SOOO want to play it...
@pichurap21 well everyone is titled to there own opinion, an example me: i grew up with the sega genesis games, but i play mario games alot more often to be honest, but they are equal respect i feel, but that what i think, and its the same for anyone, so if Seltzer1Liter prefers mario more so what?
Then again sega hasn't really been doing much good with Sonic since their glory days of dreamcast years, of course the graphics have been getting better but that's pretty much it except that now in these days they seem to gain a drag and actually loosing their remaining interest. Pretty much all Sonic games fall below SA2 from xbox/ps2 and even some from the wii of today while Mario evolves far more complexly.
Sonic really needs to do the same because it's really slipping down these days.

I say Mario wins for two reasons: one, Sonic just HAD to separate from the Nintendo consoles and make his own that were the EXACT SAME. Two, there's a kid at school who idolizes Sonic and imitates him ALL THE TIME. And that gets PRETTY annoying.
Mario gaves are adventurous, you can walk around free roam, sonic your forced to run forward in the new ones :P The old sonic's were the shit though, sonic 1, 2, and 3

The guns and vehicles are optional, except in I think two levels you need vehicles, and chaos control + blast is the best idea ever. Personally, I think secret rings is the worst Sonic game to date, like it was made just for some quick cash but it's OK if you think 06 is worse. I actually preferred black knight to secret rings, and I think unleashed 360 version is the best Sonic since adventure 2.
Colours is kiddy and retrofags hate new Sonic? Generations is being made. People don't like Generations leaked level list? Play SA2, sonic 3 and knuckles and listen to the SA1 soundtrack and you'll know what I mean (hint: Final Egg 2 music and It dosent matter)

my opinion, not all the new sonic games suck but some couldve been better and sonic 4 and colors has put him on the right track and generations doesnt look to bad (and if one version of the stages suck we have another type to use) and mario is ok but has to much support and it gets to many good reviews. just cause hes mario doesnt mean all his games are good.
sonic got bad the moment they made Sonic the hedgehog 2006. Then they made the same game twice after that but 1 was where he could change to a crappy were hog and the next they gave him a sword that he is shit with. Colors was okay but is nothing compared to what it once was.
Then you got Mario in which i'm gonna be honest got bad when he hit Galaxy, because you know someone is low on ideas when they use space, especially if it's done twice.
First sonic game I tried is secret of rings and it stnks so mario is my life anyways he is awesome especially 3d for Mario and 2d but sonic 3d is terrible 2d is ok. I like sonic 2 and sonic flash rest stink. Even though sonic stinks why can Mario and sonic lovers just get along!

Sonic Adventures were excellent, and considering when the first SA came out in 1999, it was freakin' epic, and good lookin' game. SA2 is also one heck of a 3D game, there's so much to do and Sonic's stages were excellent and the soundtrack is pretty much the best ever. After those, 3D sonic's are more or less good/bad. Except the most recent games, like Colours and StH 4.

Okay, they're both evolving in graphics pretty welly and similarly but in a competition of what game is better then what, is a different story.
Round 1:Super Mario vs Sonic Adventures 1= both are equal in their own rights, they were just amazing especially for their time.
Round 2:Super Mario Sunshine vs Sonic Adventures 2= Without a doubt in my mind, Sonic wins that one, it was far more fun and dynamic.
Round 3:Super Mario Galaxy vs Sonic The Hedgehog=Mario, too advance and original

COD manages to be both, though, I agree, but Galaxy was at least somewhat fun, but not one of the best games of the year for me. nor were any Sonic games. I have to give that title to (um... it's '07, right? :P) No More Heroes! Anyways... I like both series, I like both companies, it's just that I like both Sonic and SEGA a bit more than Mario and Nintendo. Is that against the law or something?

@uzimakishadow That game is fun as hell, if you can be bothered to go through the whole thing and get Lancelot's ultimate weapon. Then every level becomes epic. (I couldn't be bothered, played like that at a friend's house.) I get your point, though. I consider an ups-and-downs series like Sonic to be more enjoyable than a consistently average one like Mario. Play SA2, sonic 3 and knuckles and listen to the SA1 soundtrack and you'll know what I mean (hint: Final Egg 2 music and It dosent matter)

There are some of them who don't know anything and just make some crap up (like IGN's review of Sonic Unleashed). I'm not saying all Sonic games are good. I hate Shadow the Hedgehog. I feel that was probably the worst game I've ever played. You also seem to assume that I hate Mario when the fact is that I like his games (mainly SMW)

my opinion, not all the new sonic games suck but some couldve been better and sonic 4 and colors has put him on the right track and generations doesnt look to bad (and if one version of the stages suck we have another type to use) and mario is ok but has to much support and it gets to many good reviews. just cause hes mario doesnt mean all his games are good.

sonic got bad the moment they made Sonic the hedgehog 2006. Then they made the same game twice after that but 1 was where he could change to a crappy were hog and the next they gave him a sword that he is shit with. Colors was okay but is nothing compared to what it once was.
Then you got Mario in which i'm gonna be honest got bad when he hit Galaxy, because you know someone is low on ideas when they use space, especially if it's done twice.
All in all. They both suck now. Zelda FTW!

First sonic game I tried is secret of rings and it stnks so mario is my life anyways he is awesome especially 3d for Mario and 2d but sonic 3d is terrible 2d is ok. I like sonic 2 and sonic flash rest stink. Even though sonic stinks why can Mario and sonic lovers just get along!

@Raph1015 Dude, I know that's a bad first impression. But that's like hating Mario if your first game in the series was Luigi's Mansion (which I think the worst mario game). Honestly, get a sonic game that isn't on wii (no offence to Nintendo, it's probably coincidence all my least fav. Sonic games are on wii.) Like one of the adventure games for gamecube so you can play it on wii, and you'll know why so many people like Sonic Games :D just some advice for u.

Sonic Adventures were excellent, and considering when the first SA came out in 1999, it was freakin' epic, and good lookin' game. SA2 is also one heck of a 3D game, there's so much to do and Sonic's stages were excellent and the soundtrack is pretty much the best ever. After those, 3D sonic's are more or less good/bad. Except the most recent games, like Colours and StH 4.

I just meant that I thought they should have worked harder on Mario's 25th anniversary instead of re releasing super mario all stars with no extras. SEGA used to have all these familiar faces in their games, but now only a small amount of them are left because the dreamcast died and they'd be lucky to appear in a SEGA superstars game instead of their own

Sonic wins. i've played and beat'n 99% of sonic games and half of the mario (just so i could say ive played them) after the dreamcast sonic hit a slump starting with the cursed sonic heroes. Sonic 06 their lowest point was an abomination. but they turned it around with sonic unleashed for the 360. well half way atleast. the game would have been perfect were it not for the werhog. but i hear sonic colors is promising. but something is still missing.
