  • To say that Christ was not tempted is to ignore the testimony of the gospels. They clearly state that he was tempted. In his humanity he was tempted and, by his example, he showed us all how to resist Satan. The three sins that Satan used against Jesus are the three great sins of the people of Israel after God saved them from Egypt. This is also a warning to those who believe in private interpretation of Scripture. Satan quotes Scripture, but out of context.

  • How can one possibly talk about temptation when there is never any possibility of the subject of temptation, Christ, ever surrendering to temptation? How could God, in the person of Christ, even experience temptation? For, to truly experience temptation, is to entertain, however slightly, the possibility of giving in to it.

External temptation is something that is done to you to try appealing to your human nature. It is not something you do.
