  • Rory was, among other things, an evolution of scotch/irish music that immigrated from ireland. Irish and celtic music turned into bluegrass and blues, among other variants. Rory is a modern day interpretor. An irishmans interpretation of music that left his home and came back two hundred years later. The youtube vids make him more known to me than otherwise, but it is bittersweet.

  • @jdesmo4 The marriage of European folk music (such as Irish as you say) and African music in America is indeed a fascinating story. Should be required reading for any blues fan.
