My first show was the Marshall Tucker Band and the Outlaws at Nassau Coliseum. I sat outside Korvettes early morning in order to purchase floor seats. In school everyone was wondering who was going to out perform who. They both won in my book. A couple days later Tommy Caldwell died in a car crash. R.I.P. Caldwell boys. To this day I love their music. I used to refer to their music as "TuckerVibes." Thanks guys for your music. Yes, so under rated I aggree to that of the Allman Brothers.
Not sure whos more under rated MTB or the Outlaws? prob MTB they are as good as anyone in a body of work. certainly on par with skynerd and allman bros I think their better R.I.P. Caldwell boys
@BadSneakers Man you are right on with you're Bacharach call....My Friend taped Tommy's last show at Nassau Coliseum from WLIR in NY...We wore that out for about 5 years..But his great Bass line in this tune always grabbed me..Great Stuff!
Tucker was never the same after Tommy Caldwell died in the care accident. It just drained the energy this band had going for it. Toy was not the same and it was such a shame. I loved this group and adored them for years....long live Tommy, Toy and Timmy, the other brother who died. Tragic family. But great music lives on...
@JackZybach That's incredible - that this song didn't even crack the Top 40. This is my favorite MTB song, yet none of my friends have ever even heard it before.
i am lovin this tucker sound sooooooooooooo much....im a jazz n funk man..but their melodys stamp all over a lotta stuff i love......BEAUTIFUL...how come they not more heard and played??
Doug had the most amazing smooth voice, he could also hit any high note and had beuatiful vibratto. One of a kind singer. I want to sing like him for just one day in my life, or maybe everyday.
Country jazz ..up to par with Chicago! ..putting horns and strings to country music ..genius! ..enjoy Doug and his magic voice!

People don't like good music, thats why it's not more played and heard. All the way up to when Tommy Caldwell died, this band was the SHIT!
