I find it so odd this new trend to trash all religions. or really sad, we are in desperate need of a cohesive liberal arts education. one with mentors and students. where people have to follow through do the work & dig deeper than bumper sticker simplistic blaming. I love Carlin and I Love much of what Carl Sagan did in his life. I can honestly say that Carl Sagan earned his Atheism and everyone has a right to make their own decision on that as NO ONE knows for certain, but I disagree

I like what Carlin said...as always---but don't care for the Zeitgeist movie...it does have that "conspiracy theorist" feel and the music and meddeld facts doesn't help---which discredits it. However he is write about religion it is TRUELY the most primitive perversion...I was hooked too on the opium until that doubt that I have been having all my life finally won over but sadly most of us will remain doomed from the womb.

@christinaandzack If god made you in his own image that means that he took poop too. Does god need to take poo just like you ? Does god need food at all to survive just like you? Is that the god you believe in? If I would believe in something it would be in a lot better image than any human, it would not need anything because needing something is somewhat of a weakness. If god exist he wouldn't be weak.

BTW God has love for everyone and everything he created, even your poo.

He is our creator, the cigarettes creator, the bone creator, the poop creator, the miss of the world creator, he is everything's creator. If you have soul everything has too, only arrogant people acknowledge only themselves and brag to be a good person. You think you are good and yet you say that god made you his favorite pet, why? I believe that if he exists he doesn't have favorites, everything has equal rights.

Catholicism really exploits that "yearning to be part of the overall one." They say you have a deep spiritual hole in your soul, and that it can be healed by the receiving the Eucharist. I grew up Catholic (I still go to Church via parents), and they use music as emotional manipulation during Mass to get you...riled up, for lack of a better phrase. But as G. Carlin pointed out, it's cruel.

Older tapes of Wayne Dyer used to remind me of George Carlin, when Dyer use to crack up his audience with jokes sprinkled in his lecture. Now, this audio of Carlin talking all spiritual reminds me of Wayne Dyer. Both have soothing voices and are very wise men.

Ive always been a big fan of these 2 individuals, Carl Sagan mainly because of his Cosmos Documentary, and numerous astronomical findings, the guy is brilliant.
