When I see the comments from many below, all I understand is that only few understood what Kamal spoke.. He was not referring ARR receiving academy awards not worth, but for which movie did he get it,,, Also he's staunch fan of Raja sir and definitely Raja's genius is incomparable!! We know who they (Raja, Kamal) are.. Its a speech for fans like us not you guys!!!

this is by far the ultimate tribute on ilayaraja i have heard. so far all i've heard is cliches -raja's god, raja is music music is raja bla bla blah blabla. Death is a good teacher. Rahman learnt it at 9. Raja is learning now after the passing of his loved one. Now is the time for 2 great movers of tamil film music to join hands and compose together like other great duos of film music in Indian cinema. What a wonderful treat it would be hear "Raja Rehman" in a film !. Hope 2012 will create such a "life" instead of such "gas" from people like Kamal !. I hate watching Raja's commercials for jewelry !. God have mercy !

1. His thoughts about Tamil Kalachaaram to be saved by the tamil film industry is intriguing !. He had once made fun about tamil kalaachaaram when some others objected to his film being named as "Sandiyar" !

2. I too am a fan of Raja but I feel his international successes were limited as he did not embrace cutting edge technology like ARR. Even on tape, hearing "chinna chinna aasai" made me proud that Tamil film music finally arrived in "India" for very first time, let alone world .
