I like this and i think I will get my hair done next time I am in town. I usually do not want to waste so much time but this looks like a good thing to do - and film. I love the DPRK music.
Individuals in these severe socialist countries or dictatorship are rather uncorrupted and nicer. Yet as a country it's a totally different story. The scary thing is that some people often forget these differences.
Fasinating video!!!! Indeed, Kim Hye-Sun seemed like a very cool woman -- and, that face massage thing she did looked relaxing. Really, your video gave some nice insight into this closed nation. Just glad you got out after getting the DPRK doo ... :) Just curious, how much did the haircut cost in USD?
This is very nice, but a read in a newspaper that the hairdresser was sentenced to death and is now dead. It's a shame on you, but very nice video though. [*]
All the people are the same; with same needs and wants AND rights.
It is just that in some cases, a few, a very few, a few thousands consume what 20 some million should share. It has shown over and over again power concentrated on a few equals poverty for the mass. May God bless those in N Korea.
I could see that there are only few cars on the street and all of them are from in 70 to 80s. maybe they don't have enough gas for cars. Pyongyang looks like "totally dead city" I feel pity to those poor people who live in there.
Wow! I am also a South Korean and I never knew how modern Pyongynag is!
Its amazing how information is so limited about our northern neighbor. I was taught to believe that life in North Korea is very miserable. Its interesting to see Pyongyang citizen on their daily lives without censorship by the government.
This is an eye-opener for me! And look how deep the subway goes!!! WOW!
Perused an article in Korean newspaper (일간 플러스) here in Koreatown, Los Angeles. For some reason or maybe because North Korea is my mom's and my grandmother's mother land, I always get fascinated with NK. Lovely music although sounds quite outdated ^.^
Hello. Very interesting video. The kind I always wanted watch about North Korea. But I am just a bit worried about your guide. She might have got imprisoned or even been tortured for letting you take the video. I know it was a hidden spy kind of video but still North Korea will blame everything on her, even if she had no idea you were filming.
Ah, the one of only 2 underground stations you are allowed to visit. I went for a shave when I was there last year. Search DPRK on flicker for North Korean pictures. You can go in with Koryo Tours. Its around E1600 for a week.
defecters are talking about recent food shortages. i guess pyongyang is one of the cities that recieves adequate rations but many people are starving in the countryside
After watching this video i dont see that communism is that bad

Is it true that they have people riding the subways for show when visitors come, but the subways are closed down otherwise?

No secretly captured videos on legitimate foreign investment and business - yes, there is - in North Korea can be watched on businessnk (youtube).
