Well I suffer from social anxiety to, and I am in college which is just horrific with someone with my condition and I want to be the first one to sympathize with you, now after you have calmed down you have to understand that people come into court and probably at one time are another pull that kind of act but are faking .... yes even to get out of a ticket. You have to realize that or condition might not be taking seriously if someone is not properly trained to see it. Pay, never go back
What about bus stops? The ones with a bench? In a bigger city, at the right place? If you are there first, you have a legitimation to talk to another waiting person. And you can repeat that endlessly.
Could you write the judge a letter explaining what happened, with why you hadn't paid yet and what happened in the courtroom? There might be a way there...
@1994FireBug Dude I have that! My eyes water like a damn fire hydrant if I get uncomfortable with some situations. It also kinda happens when I'm in a stuffy space. Anyone else have this? Oh and do your eyes water at other times too?
People are usually more compassionate when they can relate to something. If the judge wasn't a shy person, it's possible that he just didn't understand. I'm sure judges get all kinds, and he probably thought you were over reacting on purpose.Women tend to get super emotional in court to make people feel sorry for them. In his mind, he was probably thinking he had lots of work to do and he didn't want any delays. Without actually seeing him myself I really don't know, but this is my conjecture.
in these situations uv already lost, its what u see. The other girl on the stand handeled him better than u, cus she didnt see him as u saw him.
She saw him as a simple judge, and answered easily cus she didnt have any thoughts of the alternative.
U saw a challenge, an intimidating judge, and all the possibilitys of a disaster, and when the event came u understood that it was all really happening right now, and within ur attention was all these bad thoughts which just totally snowballed
Anxiety.. I keep feeling like the source problem is caring about what people think of you. We have zero reason to care what people think of us. Since this is classified as a disorder, it would take a little work, but you could do it. Work on controlling your thoughts. Practice meditation!
DON'T PANIC!!! You might have got him down to 25 a month. Claim it's too much to begin with. Ease up on the stress..(Lighten up) I know it's hard I used to do that too. Worry about things not come to pass... I hope the best for ya'.
I feel bad I have social anxiety myself I've went on and off of school for years. Quit in grade 8 back in grade 8 the next year but behind, quit halfway through grade 9 and now going back for grade 10 to some loser place for education.
Social anxiety has ruined my life to and I can't imagine what you are possibly going through or what you were going through at the time. Doc just gives the pills that fuck you up even more not even caring.
Don't fight it just pay it and be happy you're amazing.
For some reason my original comment did not post so I will repeat it. The judge is not a psychologist so he min not even know what social anxiety means. Secondly don't think of yourself as an outlaw. You are just one of the many people who got a speeding ticket.
Also I wasn't trying to fight the ticket. I was trying to get rid of the 300 dollar assessment added on and the suspension of my license due to a mistake made by the clerk I spoke with over the phone. I had asked to make payments starting on the 22nd and she said it would be fine. Well, it wasn't and I didn't even have a chance to explain myself to the judge.
I see what you are saying. Social anxiety can be hard to deal with. If you are going to appeal the 300$ assessment I would recommend seeing if there is someone that can go with you like a psychologist or chancellor.
cont: I would not recommend fighting it. The thing is if you were speeding then they are not going too let you out of it. Otherwise anyone could just get out of a ticket by saying they have social anxiety. What I would recommend is talk to the city and see if there is a way that they can lower your payments(like an installment plan)
I really like your sense of humor.

@starburstchick That is the wonderful criminal justice system we have. If your in court to a judge you are immediately the bad guy.

Try to get a new court date (tofight it) on a day where the judge cant show up for what ever reason. then it'll be cancled.

I would fight it. Expect a lot more ignorance and rudeness though.
