And as far as the music goes, you can dance to anything you feel is right. I dance to hip hop all the time, and some metal, and some techno. It just depends on what your feeling. Also, if its just an informational video, I dont see why she would have to do her hair...its not about how she looks, its a video on Omi's.. You do not HAVE to have a belly to belly dance, much more than the belly, you use your hips to dance. The belly just follows most of the time. Even though there are alot of moves for the stomach, the hips are what make it. And as far as her not being skinny enough, thats bull too. Belly dancing was originally used for pregnant women. It helps to train their his and muscles for child birth. So really, it use to be for fat women anyways.

You should never actually contract the lower back. The entire movement should be executed with the lower abdominal muscles engaged. The focus of the move should be placed on curling the hips up towards the front, and then pushing them down towards your toes, as opposed to dropping them back behind the heels. Crunching the lower back will lead to injury.

Belly dance is originally Arabic ;) Hehe... رقص شرقي ! That doesn't mean that non-arabs can't dance, it's all about having joy and love for the music, and of course having time for pratcise - lots and lots of practise. There are arabic dancers out there who looks like they swolloed a huge stick.. hehe.. and there are dancers from Argentina, Russia etc. who are great, graceful and beautiful dancers. Keep it up! :-)
