The Yeoman transformed into a cube and crushed was in "By Any Other Name"--not "Errand of Mercy"! I'm amazed the "Trekkers" didn't call the guy out on it....
I enjoy Star Trek but I don't make it my life & it actually amuses me that there are people out there who analyze each & every episode & take it so seriously. Star Trek is good entertainment but that's it. It's called SCIENCE FICTION for a reason. Still, they're not hurting anyone but many of them seriously need to get laid. But that aside, nice one Mr Shatner, (notice I didn't say Kirk) I laughed my head off!
Trekkers are NOT like this, this is the trekkies. Trekkers just love star trek, collect some merchandise, watch the movies, MAYBE go to a convention. But they have EVERY ounce of a life lol.
Ever kissed a girl? Well, there are female trekkies too you know. But, there were none in this clip. But yeah, I've never been that obsessed with Trek for those obscure details, that not even he can remember!
Terrific. I’ve always been a “Star Trek” fan, but I do find Trekkies quite obnoxious. It’s a great series, but there really is a world beyond it. There are other series, there are other films, there are great books, there’s beer, pizza, women, cars, hangin’ out with buddies, etc.
@steveconn SNL likes to pull these clips as soon as they're posted. I posted this skit a while back and it was pulled soon after. This one is only 2 months old. I have the Love Boat parody on tope, but SNL needs to lighten up first.
@SpreadingtheMuse It's not SNL that pulls the videos. It's NBC/Universal's legal department who are so possessive of their intellectual property. A shame that Lorne Michaels is also on board. A sketch that's many years old shouldn't be pulled from YouTube!
Did any hardcore Trekkies get offended at the Holiday Inn sign saying "Trekkers?" You know, they can be sensitive, is that sign incorrect? Eh, what do I know I like Star Wars better anyway (and original Galactica and '79 Buck Rogers and...)
The thing is, Shatner himself has used that "lark" for his entire career, he doesn't seem to want to escape Kirk, so much so that he was very pissed he wasn't included in the Star Trek reboot a few years ago (that Nemoy was included in). Still, very funny clip.
LOL! I remember watching this when it was live. Bill really did upset a few hardcore Trekkies with this skit. I should know... I used to go to Trek conventions in the 80's.
@TheLastBrainLeft funny, during the time it aired no one thought SNL was funny. Everyone just complained about how funny it used to be, and how it wasn't any more.
The funny starts around 4:00

The original Enterprise couldn't normally handle speeds of warp factor 9. Dumbass.
