  • This is probably the stupidest movie monster ever... It's not even scary at all...

  • Ok! That bit with the people's it's absorbed all wailing for help might just the the creepiest thing I, in my B-movie obsessed, Moffat-era-Who-living existence have ever seen.

  • OMFG IT LOOKS LIKE A DOG

  • @fortune7557 Not really. but then again this is poor quality transmission. watch it on netflix then you'll actually be able to see more of the monsters. i was able to see it's fins and it's tail along with it's tentacles when i actually watched it. but it's really hard to see charlie completely. yes the monster's name is charlie. should've been proteus but instead the genetic virus is called proteus.

  • This is NOT a rip off to The thing! It's a rip off to movie Levithan!

  • @mrlegofan404 Which in turn was ripping off both Aliens and The Thing.

  • 1:47 LINDA HELP ME!! LINDA WHERE ARE YOU!! XD Creepy and disturbing the thing never did that though in fact how come it would've actually tempted the main characters not to kill it but then again the thing is an plant/celluar/animal/alien plus it's allot more aggressive and pretty much rapidly mutates into whatever creatures it assimlated from their cells

  • Did anyone here someone say "help me" when that shark like monster just broke out of that girl's body cause I swear I did. This monster reminds me of the one off of leviathan in fact the two are very close actually except this one had a different body structure and has the head of a shark while the other one had the head of some sort of dragonfish.

  • I love how gruesome older movies could get back then.

  • Now I see where the idea for shartopus came from!

  • who the hell uses a lighter under the rain???

  • @stviru5 Emos lighting a smoke. ;)

  • Looks awesome! Dang, I can't wait to get this on DVD!

  • you can smack me up this thang.

  • what the heck

  • This film definitely wreaks of mid 90's

  • where is the full movie??

  • i read the book this movie was based on, just as corny. At least it didnt end with this horrible conclusion.

  • what the fudge? :o

  • This movies like an exact copy of leviathan only worse,

  • @Markaintus probably abut the same

  • min 2:30....love the terminator music!haha!

  • saw this movie more then 12 years ago and when i look back its still a dumb movie

  • You know this is also a ripoff of a anime movie "AKIRA", just think of it that thing is crying out for help and so does Tetsuo, when he needed help from Kaneda.

    Tetsuo: "Kanedaaa... please help meeeee..."

  • Still doesn't stop the fact that both Tetsuo and Charlie (the monster in this movie) were both insanely powerful (in their respective continuities-- Tetsuo outclasses Charlie by FAR when they're compared to each other) as well as completely **batshit** insane-- despite the fact that they were crying out for help wouldn't have stopped either of them from killing the protagonist; the only way to 'help' either of them would be to put them out of their (and thus everyone ELSE'S) misery.

  • @DorianMichaelsIII

In their respective continuities...lol. "Who is stronger, aquaman or hydroman"...hahahahahahah

  • i wonder if this is where they got the idea with Resident Evil 5 and the ''Excella'' boss fight from

  • It was available on DVD in the US. I have a copy as I was involved with the making of the film.

It was shot entirely in the east end of London. Never went anywhere near water - the oil rig was built in the car park.

Yes it was low budget - but the producer went on to make My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

  • I don't know if it's the transfer or the actual film but it's too dark through most of this movie. Did the cinematographer mess up with the lightmeter?

  • Wow weird

  • Someone can send me the french version of this particular movie?

  • Low budget, yes, bad acting, sure, complete ripoff, definitely, but that doesn't mean that it isn't fun...I saw this movie at an early age, and fell in love with it, a love affair that continues to this day, even though now I can see the flaws clearly evident in this film. That happen with anyone else here? Also, I have been scouring the Internet looking for DVD copies of Proteus, and cannot find anything beyond VHS...if anyone has found a DVD copy, please post here as to where you found it!

  • actually i had the same experience, i´ve been looking for a copy on DVD, but no luck, the closest thing i got was downloading it using ¨eMule¨, it took WEEKS but i finally downloaded the film, however they´re FRENCH and SPANISH dubbed versions, still haven´t been able to locate an ENGLISH version :-(

  • Yeah same, can you send me the spanish or french version of Proteus please im dieing to see this movie again

  • let me see what i can do, either ill upload it(in parts as most people do it)or ill upload the whole movie file some where and provide you guys with the LINK, just hang on and give me a few days to do it ;p...Thanx 4 posting n_n

  • bob keen also did to catch a yeti, i havent seen this yet but it looks like a winner

  • "You're a fuckin fish with a drug habit!"

    Genius ;-)

  • yeah, me too, it's badass!!, even for a low budget, it was directed by BOB KEEN, the guy who did some make-up FX on Clive Barker's HELLRAISER and Neill Marshall's DOG SOLDIERS, and the musical score by JOHN MURPHY(28 Days/Weeks Later & Sunshine),it's one of those cool british B-Movie gems!! (xD)

  • love this movie
