Teal Wicks is absolutley outstanding! She shines brighter then the stars. She's one of my all-time favorite Elphaba's. I hope one day she goes to Broadway and shows to the world just how passionate and rich those pipes of hers are. I don't know much about Laura but from what I just heard I think she's great!
crazyronniejoe- Have you even seen caissie? She did get better but I mean common Teal went on more than her. Teal has been and will always be amazing. But Caissie is to :)
and you're judging based on this one audio? Give her a break. I saw Ms Wicks three times at the pantages, last on October 23rd and she delivered amazingly. She sounded better than any of these videos/audios here on youtube.
As usual, frikin amazing! Love you Teal! I really hope it's true that she's doing SF! I saw her with Megan Hilty and with Laura Woyasz, and she's amazing with both of them! Love Teal, always have!
her vocal range went up if anything, she has been in the role for almost a year and is doing it in San Fran so its GOOD that shes doing more wicked cause she is THE BEST
absolutely amazing. she has proven that she's the only actress who was able to keep up with the vocal stamina required for elphaba, besides the original. every other actress who has done the role for an extended period of time showed a significant decrease in vocal quality.
anyway, amazing :) i think people just get mad when she doesnt do her second 'down' riff, but it's still powerful as hell to me!
Except that she was only in the role for five months, and by the end of the third, her voice was notably strained. She showed quite a dramatic decrease in quality... and you think Idina didn't either? Wow. Seriously, yo... listen to some Idina after... oh, I don't know... opening night on Broadway? Caissie Levy, for example, got stronger. Yes, issues prevented her from doing the full 8 shows a week, but her voice was notably stronger at the end of her run.
Even Julia Murney said herself that the vocal parts of Wicked were written irresponsibly. Every woman who does the role of Elphaba eventually strains their voice. Elphaba is one of the most straining, and challenging vocal roles Broadway or the musical world has ever seen. Give these women some credit.. they put their voices on the line for our enjoyment. I have a HUGE amount of respect for anyone who takes on this role.. they're ALL amazing.
Oh Teal, you're so amazing.

Lets not forget that Teal also performed the role 50 TIMES in 4 months before she actually took over for 5 more.
Yes, I did notice that she started straining after a while, but then she worked her way through it and ended her run magnificently.

her vocal quality and range has really gone down, i guess it's a good thing she wasn't in the role for long
