Torsion bars are placed im paralel, reason why the measures arn´t the same in both sides. But if you take a look to the owner's manual, it's all there.
Renault have made the second most sold car in the world, more than 8 million's cars produced (the first was the VW "beetle" with more than 20 million's).

I think this difference is deliberate (rear indep. suspension) and this aside, don´t compare YUGO-quality with Western levels...

She is soooo so so stupid girl....if u know what is TORZIJE you would know why is 2 inches longer right side of vechile...because it has independent wheels on back side....and that is one of reasons why is R4 so comfortable....thats not a mistake....and R4 is more comfortable than 90 % of new generation cars because of that...

The distance between axles of Renault 4 is slightly different in the right than in the left of the vehicle, that´s why a rear wheel is more advanced than the other. Renault took this original layout to simplify the design of the rear suspension.

You're such an idiot. That is a design feature that allowed to keep the floor flat and the suspension working independently instead of the primitive cross bar. At least you could notice all measured the same, didn't they? Did you tried measuring your thing? A thumb must be long enough for that.

Renault is the best. Renault 14 has a torsion bar suspension too, and the right rear wheel is a few inches after the other but it's cool. I learned driving a car on a R14 super car.

Is this the best you've got against the Renault 4? You should see those cars going uphill in the Colombian mountains toting a family of five and carrying a mattress on their roof, along with a pig and a few bags of groceries. They kick ass!
Besides, you've proven that they're pretty consistent in their design; it's not like the sizes vary from car to car, they're all exactly the same, so what's wrong with that? Cheap, strong, reliable cars....

Yo, what if it's only the right door that is shorter in length compared to the left one? Cuz if you look, you see the gas tank is located on the right corner which means it could mean reducing the door size has allowed to make more room for the tank (?) I dunno.

it's not the only car like that, of course some other old cars don't have this gap, but hey, they just have no torsion bars! :p
the reault5 (and 7 in spain) still has the same suspensions, or course the R6 too, and they are still known as the most reliable cars in the world ,
the are some rare cars made on the R4 chassis, the JEEP dallas (yes, JEEP :p ) or the sovam 1300 sportscar and some roadsters ;)

Torsion bars are placed im paralel, reason why the measures arn´t the same in both sides. But if you take a look to the owner's manual, it's all there.
Renault have made the second most sold car in the world, more than 8 million's cars produced (the first was the VW "beetle" with more than 20 million's).
