  • @alwayscurious20 he stole the lyrics for the chorus from a hymn. that's it. the message of the song falls in line with that, but his verses are unique, as is the notes of the chorus and the rest of the song

  • Captivating song!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • aaamazing

  • Josh this song speaks to me so deeply, there are days when I get so down with the way the world is. Days when I have cried (literally) to the Lord asking " why?!" this song ministers to that pain, thank you for sharing your gift with us, and know that it is edifying to the Body of Christ! Blessings, D

  • Apparently satan is the only one who would "dislike" this!

  • Love how he takes it

    and makes it

    his own.

    Doc Watson would be touched.

  • I'm going to play this song at my dads mamorial... thank you for this song.

  • This song is excellent. I love it. Come play in New Zealand! :)

  • unbelievable song - very well written. I'll be telling my friends about this one

  • You can find all the lyrics to this album and a way to download it on his website. Just look up Josh Garrels Love & War & The Sea Between on Google and it's the first page(:

  • All of heaven turns up the volume when this comes on the playlist. Absolutely beautiful.

  • must have chords!

  • @bahequa Capo 2, play G C Em D

    Lather, rinse, repeat! :D

  • @joshformanunited, actually if you look carefully at his fingers, the pattern for the chorus is G Cadd9 Em D... Cadd9 is simply a G with the first and second fingers slid down one string. I think playing it this way makes it sound much richer and closer to the original. But, good job figuring out the progression otherwise :)

I LOVE this song, Garrels is pretty much a lyrical genius.

  • @freeasabird94 actually, for the chorus get rid of the Em, its only brought in on the verses

  • @freeasabird94 OK, correction #3, last one promise :)

    Chorus; G Cadd9 C D

    Verses; G Cadd9 C D Em

    There you go :)

  • I wonder why the good man dies, the bad man thrives and Jesus crys because He loves them both....so much theology, unanswered question and complexity in that statement

  • @MessiahWrestling

read the book "Soveriegnty of God" by A.W. Pink and it will help answer this "unanswered question"

  • @MessiahWrestling Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil."

  • Amazing
