@alwayscurious20 he stole the lyrics for the chorus from a hymn. that's it. the message of the song falls in line with that, but his verses are unique, as is the notes of the chorus and the rest of the song
Josh this song speaks to me so deeply, there are days when I get so down with the way the world is. Days when I have cried (literally) to the Lord asking " why?!" this song ministers to that pain, thank you for sharing your gift with us, and know that it is edifying to the Body of Christ! Blessings, D
You can find all the lyrics to this album and a way to download it on his website. Just look up Josh Garrels Love & War & The Sea Between on Google and it's the first page(:
@joshformanunited, actually if you look carefully at his fingers, the pattern for the chorus is G Cadd9 Em D... Cadd9 is simply a G with the first and second fingers slid down one string. I think playing it this way makes it sound much richer and closer to the original. But, good job figuring out the progression otherwise :)
I LOVE this song, Garrels is pretty much a lyrical genius.
I wonder why the good man dies, the bad man thrives and Jesus crys because He loves them both....so much theology, unanswered question and complexity in that statement
@MessiahWrestling Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil."
Amazing!
