Still a fan of the potential of their products but I haven't heard a thing about them outside of youtube research since my last post. Wondering about their management team.
I dont think that its sour grapes, its simply the evolution of control systems. If you have ever seen an ipad, You already know that it runs rings around a wireless touchpanel from any manufacturer (crestron/amx) at a fraction of the cost.
And why should a client have to pay high dollars? If they can get a comparable system, then they should.
All this from looking at the outside sign a company called SOUND DESIGNS and the audio on this video doesnt match the video.... and yes agree that they call the crestron 8x legacy becuase they loaded a very bad GUI.
I like that they are partnered with Apple. Apple should buy them and push full force into this growing market. Gonna have to do something about the price though.
I wonder if Savant has any studies that back up their claim that touching photographs improves comprehension of user interfaces.
Even if they do have supporting evidence they're not showing anything that "legacy" products like AMX or Crestron can't already do given a competent UX designer.
Pretty sleazy for the Canadian Savant importer to show a Crestron 8x in wall dock (with the crestron name clearly visible) and call it "older legacy style control system; busy, not very intuitive and hard to know where to go" when they have a crappy GUI programmed on it. Pretty sleazy sales tactics from a company that was a Crestron dealer before they became the importer for Savant.
