the ironic thing about the "who am i to tell you how to run your business when you could strike me blind" lyric is that years latter paddy McAloon partially lost his eyesight. maybe it would have happened regardless of whether he wrote the song,but who knows? god is a gangster and he's not afraid to let you know it.

One of my favourites, and therefore one of their best in my humble opinion. I particularly love the lyrics, but it's also got such a subtle, relaxed groove for a song with so much to say. It's one of those great, deceptively simple pop songs that can be appreciated on many levels and gets better the closer you listen to the lyrics.
